I fucking LOVE “I Can’t Stop Loving You!” It gives me chills every time - it’s used to great effect in one of my favorite movies, too. (If you want another Shawnime suggestion: Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis.) Ray Charles’ voice is so warm and nostalgic so I was really looking forward to this week. Very cool to hear the original recordings side-by-side, I love a transformative cover. Part two didn’t do as much for me but I still enjoyed it. Happy birthday, Lennon!

Amazing pull for next week

I don't know if anyone else is having issues, but I can't view this episode in the US due to SESAC

Kerkin

Yep, can't view it anymore.

Shawn, don't feel bad that you didn't remember the rap in Waterfalls. There's a popular edit of the song that cuts the rap.

Ray was absolutely cookin on this one. This album ruled and I also listened to both volumes but it’s fine because they both kicked ass. I really liked you playing the original song versions because it illustrated how insane the Ray versions were. Big fan, 4/5
