What a week! Join Shawn as he dives into Sleater-Kinney’s third album, ranked as Rolling Stone's 189th best album of all time. With the whirlwind of emotions from Mega64 nearly shutting down, did this album hit the right notes for him, or was it just too intense? Tune in to find out!

Blake R.

talked up the Patreon to a lot of my music-loving friends on Tuesday because Record Club is such a fun, comforting listen - even for bands/artists I don't know a lot about! Hopefully some of them are here! Keep rocking on, Shawn! Long live Mega64.

Craig

My first watch as one of those new Patreon members, and what a perfect first episode. Dig Me Out is a desert island record for me!

I read Carrie Brownsteins memoir and really enjoyed it. Excited to hear you talk Sleater Kinney :) Also thanks to whoever posts these with the .MP3. It's super convenient for me

This might be weird but I want to say thank you to the Mega64 fans who kept them alive this week, you saved my ass too 🥺 Love you, Shawn. Live forever.

Mega64ever <3 So thankful that you guys are doing better now. I’ll always be here supporting you guys anyway I can. This is kind of relevant because of music but I made a cover of your Sequence Erase theme. Feel free to use it in anyway if you like it: https://youtu.be/qgBecAgZcYA?si=eSt2A-hQK6t17D3z Anyways yeah i really liked this album. I’ve listened to this band before but didn’t connect with that album as much as I did with this one. Dig Me Out is my favorite song for sure. 3.5/5 for me, love their energy

I've never subbed to a Patreon before, but we need to make sure the boys thrive! One thing I always wanted to watch was Record Club. When I was in college in 2010 I did what Shawn is doing. I randomly jumped through the Stones 500 and Pitchforks best albums of every year, and I found a lot of stuff that I still love. It's fun that Shawns doing this.

Thank you Internet Soldiers <3 Glad that Mega64 and Record Club isn’t going anywhere and super hype for all the new clubbers <3<3 That said, I did not get on with this record. It should have been right up my alley but it really didn’t do much for me. Carrie Brownstein’s vocals poked my ears in a not-fun way. They were too clear and sharp compared to the rest of the song. I dug her and Corin Tucker harmonizing, though! Words and Guitar and Little Babies were my favorite tracks. On the other hand, I was hyper-fixated on Space Oddity when I was 16 so it takes me back every time I listen now.

nope nada

i dont know if i enjoy the instrumental, but the vocals save a lot of it...ok the instrumentals got better, and im pretty sure thats a classic synth keyboard Shawn that instrument you were wondering about near the end.

You’d enjoy Portlandia for sure, you should def check it out. I watched that show before knowing Carrie was a musician, it was crazy to learn post but made a lot of sense based on a lot of the writing in that show. I was pleasantly surprised with the vibe of this album, I would have taken them more for lighter indie rock just based on the name of the band but dig the more punk edge. Excited to listen along before the next ep being a new soob to the patreon!

SONICMAN69

I started collecting vinyl records because of Record Club, it can't ever end.

This week has been insane. Hoping the crew can chart a new course with this upswell in support. I am so happy to have shows like this week-to-week - Mega64ever! This album kicked ass. I loved how it poked and prodded vocally and sonically. I wish I heard it sooner.

LPB

Yes yes perfect mp3.
