We are gonna get RAUNCHY and listen to Prince's 3rd album Dirty Mind... an album title that I assure you lives up to it's title. Lets see what Prince has instore for us today.

Since this was blocked on YouTube for most countries I am using another video service for this week. It will go back to YouTube next week...Assuming it's not blocked again.

to answer your question; Yes I would rather have the video of you, I've already heard the album I haven't seen the video of you.

Here is a fun fact (maybe): Lake Minnetonka is the namesake for Tonka Trucks 🚜

Uptown is one of the artsier sections of Minneapolis, about 15-20 minutes away from the Parkway Theater where y’all performed :) Great album - Side 2 has no skips! The only tracks I don’t get along with are When You Were Mine and Gotta Broken Heart again. They’re fine but WUWM is overplayed and GBHA is too slow for my tastes. I like when Prince is more wild. Partyup is such a Morris Day song. I know Prince did a lot of the Time’s stuff but it totally gives off more of a MD vibe than Prince.

that was a crazy listen

I appreciate how fuckin horny prince was but this album was just fine. I honestly don’t have that many thoughts on it. 3/5 for me. Oh I do agree though that the mixing on this record is super fucking weird lol

Blocked in Brazil too :s

I think more people are out of the USA than you assume, at least based on the other comments here. I like hearing snippets of the tracks, but I keep track of my unwatched videos in a very particular way, and the MP3 version breaks that workflow a bit. Try to keep snippets of the songs under 10 seconds, maybe even under 5 seconds if possible. Jump ahead to just the most relevant or memorable parts, perhaps you can record timestamps in your notes. That'll minimize your chance of getting content ID-ed. And then I'm glad the MP3's here as a fallback.

Congratulations on 10% of the book! Glad you power through the tech issues to make the show.

Holly Helena

I always enjoy your sense of humor Shawn, but you were exceptionally funny this episode. Great deadpan. Fun album, always look forward to watching these.

I never realized that the vocal mixing was the reason I didn't hold this album higher in my mind when it comes to Prince. Great episode! Jizz on!
