Medieval wooden pillory (Patreon)

A medieval wooden pillory stands as a stark reminder of the harsh justice system of the past. Crafted from sturdy oak planks, this imposing structure features two tall upright posts connected by a horizontal beam, with a notched wooden framework designed to lock offenders’ heads and hands in place. The weathered wood bears the marks of countless public humiliations, its surface rough and pockmarked from years of exposure to the elements.
