The game DOES USE/APPLY Xbox and PC HDR Calibration app settings.

The game has a great HDR implementation as it actually leverages and applies system-level HDR Calibration while offering additional sliders which can be tweaked for achieving the best picture possible.

If for some reason you see a different Peak Brightness compared to what you usually use for your display, remember:

If you have an LG OLED and:

> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:

Set Peak Brightness slider to: 4.000 (nits)

Leave Content Paper White slider to: 200 (nits)

> you're using HGIG:

Set Peak Brightness slider to: 800 (nits) or 1.000 (for G2/C4) or 1.500 (for G3/G4/C5) or 2.400 (for G5)

Set Content Paper White slider to: 200 (nits) or 280 (for G3/G4/C5) or 300 (for G5)

If you don't have an LG OLED and:

> you don't have an HGIG option:

Leave Peak Brightness slider to: 1.000 (nits)

Leave Content Paper White slider to: 200 (nits)

> you're using HGIG:

Set Peak Brightness slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits"

Set Content Paper White slider to: 200 (nits) up to 1.000 nits Peak Luminance or 280 (for 1.500 nits Peak) or 300 (2.000 nits Peak and above)

In all cases leave UI Paper White slider to default 200 nits (in order to avoid image retention and burn in on OLEDs) and Adjust Saturation to default 100 as it already has a balanced value

BONUS:

On Consoles

Use Performance Mode on Xbox Series X (for Dynamic 4K and still great graphics at 60fps)

Use Quality Mode on Xbox Series S (for 1080p/30fps with still good graphics and sense of speed due to the really high quality motion blur)

On PC

Use DLSS 4.5 Performance with forced Preset L (if you have an RTX 4000/5000 Series) for the best quality/performance ratio otherwise use DLSS 4 Balanced with forced Preset K (if you have a 2000/3000 Series). You can read more here.

If you have an AMD GPU, use FSR 4.1 Performance mode or FSR 3 Quality Mode (if you don't have FSR 4.1 yet)

Set in-game Sharpness to 0 when using DLSS 4.5 or FSR 4.1 to avoid shimmering artifacts on vegetation. If you use DLSS Frame Generation and/or FSR 3, leave Sharpness slider to default 0.5

Enjoy ;)

If I have DTM disabled on my G5 but have professional enabled with each set to 100, do I use the HGIG settings listed for this game?

On Xbox I use your calibrated settings for a G4 OLED and the in game settings are totally different. Content paper white 300, UI paper white 400, adjust saturation 100 and they’re the only 3 options. HGIG used

Hi, could you please provide the settings for the 48-inch G5 model in the future on your posts because I never know what to use since the OLED screen of the 48-inch G5 is less bright? Thx

Jess

Hi there I have an older Sony Bravia A9F tv which doesn’t support HGIG and doesn’t have dynamic tone mapping or dynamic contrast settings but does seem to have its own dynamic tone mapping that is always on and can’t be changed. Which one of your recommended settings do you suggest someone with a similar or older TV like mine follow for your recommended settings posts?
