the FUTURE (Patreon)

Hey folks! I've had some ideas recently about changes I'd like to make to structuring my Patreon, and for obvious reasons wanted to share them here first!

My biggest idea is that I'd like to make even more, totally-non-Softies comics and bring you along for the ride! 

I've limited this Patreon to Softies-related content because it's definitely my biggest and most ambitious project, and it's a way to make it clear exactly what you're paying for. Recently though, I've been thinking that choice may be more restrictive than helpful, and I especially don't want it to burn me out on the comic! So I want to see if I can maybe alternate it with other, unrelated comics!

If you follow me on Twitter, you might've seen me occasionally drawing this set of witch characters. The Actual Witch Society of Derrybridge Middle School is a lighthearted project I came up with in my Senior year of college, and, I ended up writing a 22 page comic script treatment of the idea for a comics-writing class. Rather than letting it gather dust for the rest of time, I've been itching to take that script and complete it as a real, genuine, readable comic, and it strikes me as the perfect project for this Patreon.

I haven't hashed out all the specifics yet, but I think I'd like to post finished pages exclusively to Patrons as they are produced, with the added bonus to the Euclid Club of watching the development from script-to-page in real-time! When it's all finished I might sell it as an ebook or somethin', though obviously I would throw that in no-charge for y'all. 😄

My smaller idea is I'd like to tweak the page's tiers, milestones, and such!

Last year I set a milestone goal for bonus comics and edited my patron tiers accordingly-- I also quickly learned that making an extra comic per month was more work than I expected and, realistically speaking, more work than I could handle. 😵 I apologize pretty hard for pushing for that goal and then failing to be able to follow through with it.

So in rethinking how to organize a page such that I really can follow through with my goals, I'd like to tweak the tiers and milestones a bit! "Tweak" is the operative word here. What I'd like to do is offer $1 patrons consistent early access to comics, and offer $4 patrons both more consistent behind-the-scenes content, AND throw in a listed credit when I upload the comics, which has previously been tucked away at $10. Y'all deserve it!

I have a VERY fun idea for a third, even higher tier that I'd like to open up too, but it involves a teensy bit of funding so maybe that will be a milestone goal... 👀
