I'M FREE! Assuming I don't wake up tomorrow and decide to tweak something (I probably will)

Thank you all so much for your patience as I played around and experimented with this comic! I had not planned for it to take this long to complete and the fact that I had a really busy month did not help 😭but it was a very much worthwhile experience for me - I was getting a little tired of my ol' formula!

Assuming I don't decide to change anything last minute, this will be unlocked tomorrow & posted to my other social media for all to enjoy. I shall rest my back for a day or two and then draw some gay shit that my heart very much desires after this.

ohhhh my god. this is so lovely. my bitchy, judgemental princess just straight up shit talking Caz was a little treat for the Agonies. And seeing pre-vamp astarion is always such a joy. He looks so happy and carefree im going to throw up. I did mention this in the last posting of the first part of this comic but ohhhhhh the panel borders. ohhhhhh RJ. despite cazzie's parts being red and Sinister they're still delicate and curly when putting on a facade to Astarion, then once star turns away it feels like the facade drops and they're just bloody. and the golden borders curling into the red. im going to print this comic out and eat it

OHHH I'm so taken by all the subtleties in the scene, from Cazador's slow foreboding presence to the bustle of the crowd. I can really feel time slow with Cazador's grasp. CHILLS. And man, maintaining multi-panel crowd scenes is comics hell LOL so really nice work. Bravo!!

Gods I love this. Firstly, because I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it, I always enjoy how you light the ear points. It’s beautiful. More importantly, the chills! Oh the pacing, the foreboding! That flick is wonderful after the grasping assumption. And I do love how we get to see the hushed conversation afterwards, in much the same manner as eavesdropping doesn’t always get full sentences - perfect! Dear gods that smug bastard, though! “I just take” indeed. As always, masterful. And thank you.

The photographic framing of the shots, the suspended breath on Cazador's hand before he grabs Astarion's shoulder, it's simply absurd how you made everything create cinematic suspense like in a masterful horror film. I'm absolutely in love with Astarion's dress, both for the details and the way he delineated his form. As I've already written in some comments, the detail of the golden eyes is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I hope there's a sequel, absolutely curious to know how that fateful night really went.

I’ve always imagined Astarion’s life pre-Cazador. His friends, a sweetheart (in his words), people who mourned him. People he can’t even remember. I really feel like his original backstory of corruption that Larian cut really rings true to him as a possibility, even though I’m glad they cut it in the end.

I love the way Astarion and Cazador's methods mirror each other - Astarion's like "no, putting a controlling hand on someone is MY technique, you don't get to do it to me," and then he literally goes right back to doing it to the woman he was already working on.

I drew it with the intention of it taking place shortly before his death (few weeks for a month) in some sort of political gathering, and for the girl to be a good friend of his - but that doesn't affect the wider concept much so it's also up for individual interpretation 😁

Your version of Cazador truly gives me the chills. He is such an interesting character that didn't get a lot in the game except some verbal backstory from Astarion and written books. While we do feel for Astarion, Cazador himself wasn't established as a big threat. We spend to little time with him and the fight, while hard, didn't really give me the feeling of being truly against a powerful vampire lord. (Especially if you prepare Sun spells and holy water... STOP TURNING INTO MIST AND FACE ME LIKE A MAN) But only looking at these 4 panels hes in... I get a feeling of dread and I LOVE IT

MAN "I know that I deserve nothing at all, so I just take". Jesus, not Cazador tempting me to the dark side! I know some people will have opinions, but I actually enjoy take on Cazador as a more human-like creature. No evil starts with evil, it's just twisted, rotten good. I believe 100% Cazador feels justified in his heart just like Ascended Astarion does. Love it. I almost want to root for the man, with the caveat that he does get succinctly fucked in the endl. What a journey that would be. Also love Astarions prince Charming-like white golden ensemble. Beauty and the beast, if I ever saw one of each.

I love this idea, it completely fits with the notion that Astarion’s story is a loop — one that either breaks with him (if he remains a spawn) or is perpetuated by him (if he becomes ascendant). It also adds context to Cazador’s illegitimate hatred toward Astarion, as if belittling him in another life somehow gave legitimacy to his horrific actions

Thank you! And oh I got my ass MAULED by cazador 💀 but I agree, Astarion builds him as much more of a threat than he really ends up being. I feel like that serves a purpose of it's own in a way, though - as the victims of Cazador's cruelty, it makes sense that Astarion and his siblings would make him to be this larger-than-life figure, even if he objectively is not. I kind of tried going for a similar thing here, really. While visually he may be imposing, it says a lot about a man that all that it took for him to decide to impose endless cruelty onto a person was... To be laughed at a little bit 🤷it's a scary type of fragility that I'm personally fascinated by.

Agreed, there's no doubt in my mind that Cazador is just as angry and blind-sighted as Astarion is/was. And I think many people have endured a form of suffering that led them, momentarily, to decide that the world should pay for it collectively even if that is somewhat "unfair" 🤷really wished his whole situation got more exploration!

Surely there would be more about it, with the 4th act and connections Cazador was seemingly supposed to have with the Absolute. As it is now, his story is not really connected to the main plot of the game. Pity. I'm a sucker for intimidating architecture and almost Nolan-ish exploration of the hero journey venturing past the end credits - how they rot in their self-righteousness if they don't pivot at the right time. As it is stands now, I heard some players going "THIS is this intimidating Cazador?".His Disney villain level of " I'm gonna rule the world,mmuhahah" truly doesn't give him justice.

I hate it. This comic is too well done. So much so it made me swing through a bunch of emotions so quickly I got nauseated then upset. Gods, you can see the entitlement Caz feels in seeking retribution after having been denied. To him, the brush off is a perfectly justifiable excuse to entertain the darkness in his head. The mental possession of him is clear when the last few panels of Astarion walking away don’t change back to gold. They stay red. They stay Cazadors. Astarion, dressed and looking like he does, is a living piece of sunlight. And unlike the light of day, Cazador won’t be denied in his light. His presence, his person, his soul. It always made me shake my head when people where like “He seems so harmless. I was expecting something straight out terrible and scarry. I’m disappointed.” That’s what makes them terrifying. Their ability to blend in like shape changers. A mask so perfectly refined no one on the outside can see under it. But you, you get a front row seat to the horrors beneath. They are terrifying in their machinations. And unless you can catch them in a perfectly laid trap, you can’t convince others there is danger there. Their ability to make you seem insane will drive you right up to that cliff and heave you off it head first. This makes me want to pound my fists against the screen and scream. Knowing what’s coming but being helpless to stop it. I need tea.

I can’t imagine that Astarion wouldn’t have been turned even if he accepted Cazador’a offer. A no win situation. Can can justify however he wants but I like the idea that he had to live with the knowledge that Astarion rejected him and always would reject him.
