Shhhhh…pipe down you willy silly fools! Can’t you see the lord of the realm trying to nap? Can you not sun snuggle with less enthusiasm? Sheesh.. The contrast between the two images is stirring. The bright pop of blue sky hope over the dark murky bleakness below. You gave the synopsis behind but even without it you can feel the despair in the water against the growth in the clearing. You know, it’s not love we fear. Not really. Love is soft and palatable. Curious and wonderous. A natural thing to be pursued and desired. However, in both finding it or losing it we are always faced with the same thing gain and again. The cruel wanting of it. Want is not soft. It is sharp and insistent. Vicious as it twists your guts with feelings of lack until you vomit all your worth out onto the floor in a puddle of bitter longing. But there is never give without take. I feel stirred… Also, are those sewing needles in the boarder edges?

Spoiler alert: The character reflected in the water kills a dog with his sword when he finds out the protagonist killed his lover. But this dog is the protagonist's dog, who is alive.
