[FREE POST/ART DUMP] LADS, LADS, LADS! (Patreon)

Vulnerability time: I'll be honest, I am not 100% happy with the Fumbling The Pizzle comic - this doesn't mean that I don't think the art is good, or that I'm doubting my skill or am sinking into a "oh no, I'm a terrible artist" spiral - I just think I can do better! And that what is partially at fault here is that I jumped into it before being more confident in the way I draw these lads, and that I haven't quite nailed aesthetic I want for the KCD stuff yet. And so, before anything else, I decided to just spend all day yesterday doodling these fellas - I already feel a lot better about moving on with the Pizzle comic :) (after I get my BG3 fix, that is).
Every once in a while as an artist you gotta stop and study again. This can be hard to get your head around when you've been drawing for SO long - but it's the case for every professional and hobbyist alike.
ALSO, I don't think it's bad to just learn as you go, either. I think learning to just tell yourself "good enough" and moving on is an EXTREMELY important skill to have as an artist, especially in comic. Not everything will or has to be a masterpiece! But if you can very clearly delineate the 1 or 2 things that you want to improve on before moving on - then it's worth taking a little bit of time to do that. In my case, that thing is Henry's cherubic little cheeks. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
