As some of you know, one of the things I enjoy most about Baldur's Gate 3 (and particularly the Dark Urge storyline) Is getting to reverse-engineer my character into the different outcomes that game offers. While a "redemptive" (if you could call it that) path is the canonical way that his story unfolds, I have really enjoyed entertaining his Bhaalist AU, for one-

-And one thing people have asked me about repeatedly, is how DU drow would have reacted to an Ascended Astarion. The short, boring answer, is that their relationship would have been cut short in those circumstances. Ascended Astarion is set on turning his lover into one of his own spawn, and DU drow would never agree to such a thing as it would, in his eyes, make him a weaker version of himself.

But I like Ascended Astarion. This version of the character has a lot of potential that I would love to explore more of, similarly to how I have been able to explore Bhaalist DU Drow's AU on occasion.

And well, (un)fortunately I have since figured out how that scenario would a) be possible in the first place and b) play out. Though it may not be pretty 😌

PS: As usual, getting into Comic Mode means that there may be a couple added days between updates on here - as they require more planning and work per-update than my usual, non-sequential work. So just know that I am working hard on my end even if there is slightly less to show for it before the end product can be revealed! I hope you can enjoy these goofy looking roughs in the meantime, and perhaps get some entertainment out of guessing exactly what the hell is even happening.
