Thank you to everyone who hung out on Twitch with me last night! It was so much fun to finally katch up on so much music!!! We'll have to do another stream like this so I can keep up with this season of comebacks!!

You’re the first reactor that felt what I felt with XG’s tape #4. At first listen it felt a little off especially with the attempt to switch and speed up the flow. After more listens I def appreciate their bars, but it’s nice to see someone who’s not going super crazy over this tape like many others are. Their previous tapes are holding them to higher expectations, so the attempt to have double entendres felt a bit forced in the bar crafting which made some of the delivery feel unnatural. Missy Elliott’s must have not had much “radio play” since the boioioioing is from her original chorus of “Trampoline”. Always supporting the girls as they continue to progress!

Heyyyyy! First of all, Ryan? Hahah I mean I can call you "Lobster" forever, but also it's nice to match the Twitch handles with the names here lol Secondly - THIS SONG?!?!?!?! Oh my god, I'm so, so, so happy you requested it!!!! It's so freakin' good!!!!! I am totally down for a Billlie Follow Up/Mini Deep Dive - I've always heard they're good but literally never listened to them and now I see I've been missing out 😭

Yeah, honestly, I LOVE XG. So, so much. But this didn't hit the way other things they've put out hit and that's just kind of unfortunate for them. They set the bar so high for themselves. This latest Tape isn't BAD by any means, but I just feel like it could have been a little tighter, flow hit a little harder OR smoother - they were giving variation but it didn't feel varied, you know? I'm not a lyricist and will never claim to be, so I can't speak too much on the writing... but as a performer, I was underwhelmed. And I toooooooootally missed the original 'Trampoline' song so I had no clue that was from Missy. I just listened to it - somehow it feels cool when Missy does it, cuz she's Missy! haha.

I agree as well. I LOVE XG a lot, and I try my best not to let my appreciation for them overlook when something doesn’t hit like it should. I picked up on the entendres and you could say I’m a “retired lyricist”, so I think the verses (more so with the speedy parts in Jurin’s solo and Maya/Jurin’s speedy lines in Trampoline) were a little harder to spit because it felt like the entendre/punchline took precedent over if it rolled off the tongue well. Cocona’s solo needed more attack/enunciation for that beat and I see what you mean about the soft/deep quality she has to her voice. I needed the subtitles to fully catch everything. This tape also comes across as we don’t need to be as serious and can have fun while addressing the haters. To quote Jisoo, “not BAD, but not good” haha. Jokes aside, all of the tapes are still stuck in my head and served their purpose of living in my head. I felt the same way when I first heard BP’s “Pink Venom” or Young Posse’s “Macaroni Cheese” where I’m like “What are these lyrics and why??” …..but then it’s stuck in my head whether I like it or not and then becomes a bop. I’m not sure yet if I’d want a whole song with just one of the rap line. I’m open to it, but I like how you said that getting a taste of each rapper in moderation feels right and it’s more so what makes XG’s sound and how they deliver it.

Hi!! I missed the live stream! Thanks for reacting! I’m glad you loved the song. ARTMS is 5 members from Loona (as someone said). It’s VERY different, the bright figure (and the lady with the arrow) is the goddess Artemis. I should’ve given a heads up on some of the “dark” images. I love when groups/videos have lore associated with them. It gives so much more meaning to the music for me.

xg’s vocal unit just put up a cover of losing you by FLO (a lovely british gg). xg’s raps aren’t my thing but if you like vocals :) this might be their best vox
