Miklagård is what they called Constantinople in Norse.

The next few episodes were actually really hard for me to watch.

You want to hate Gardar for blocking Einar. Then you want to hate him to make things easier on Arnheid. Then, you can’t hate him …

Snake appears to be a former Varangian guard, elite Norse warriors that protected the Byzantine emperor, which explains how incredibly skilled he is.

The final dagger for me this episode is that if at least they ended with the scene just focused on Arnheid & Gardar, it'd have been bittersweet. Their goodbye was enough, but the camera panning out and seeing the armed men slowing approaching them made me so damn sad. Arnheid's woes have only just begun.

I didn't feel bad for any of them, that situation would never happen if they used their brain and not emotions

i usually ignore people like this because i feel sorry for whatever triggered them to comment something like this, but don't you think it's human to "use" your emotions in times of such significance, instead of "using your brain"? what point is there if, despite being a slave for so long, the love of your life that you thought was dead came to meet you, yet you think logically and not emotionally? not a single person could. has no one loved you enough for you to fathom this level of depth? i apologise for getting angry, but i think this story was beautiful, realistic, and true. i hope one day you can see it the same way too.
