Amazing stuff. Thank you!

Asam

The voice acting and dialogue of the Japanese dub were half of what made this show so special for me. I tried watching this in English the other day, I simply did not enjoy it anywhere near as much. I’m so grateful for the casting and script writing, the plot was secondary to the slice of life elements for me. I would watch 1000 episodes of this

dubcow125

it's been a great journey EL PSY CONGROO

Legit, the voice acting and character interactions is really what makes this series so good

"Does this author have other works?" Yes, Steins Gate is the 2nd game from the "Science Adventure" series. There is little relation between each game, maybe a few cameo...etc but they are all in the same universe. For example, Nae (the daughter of the shop owner) is a minor character in Robotics;Notes (the 3rd game of the series, set in 2019 so 9 years after Steins Gate) The other anime are not as well adapted as Steins Gate so not as popular.

Lena

I’ve read the whole sci fi adv series but nothing will beat the moment of my first AND second time watching this show. My fav anime/series of all time ❤️

"No one knows what the future holds. That's why its potential is infinite" - Okabe

Barry

This was a great journey!

ElijahLew

Also if you were to watch the first episode now, you can literally hear him scream. But when you watch the first episode for the first time you wouldnt know who that was that screamed its so cool. I can't wait for Steins gate 0 because ive never actually watched it so ill be experiencing it for the first time aswell

Jay - Funky_Ghst

Im glad you guys enjoyed S;G this much! This has been one of my favorites animes for a long time and i cant wait to see you reacting to S;G Zero because its my personal favorite!

Artema

It was a great journey, as Wes said, the payoffs are really good but you have to get there, i love this show and its my n1 but it requires focus, its not like OPM for example. Glad you guys enjoyed it and can't wait for whats to come!

Nicolas Pappalardo

You guys are the best lab members! Im gonna miss this reactions every week

Mateo Egey

I love you guys. I think it was me who suggested Steins Gate first back then (at least I didnt see it suggested before and got tons of upvotes.. Thanks to you too!), and you kept on rolling with my description of poetry even at the end. I have watched many reactions but it is the first time I felt I was in a conversation. I am so happy you love it as much as I did. When I first watched it when I was 16 years old, and was completely taken in by it, a few days after finishing there were news about CERN doing some weird time shenanigans in real life. I did not know CERN was a real thing. I felt this, too, had to be the choice of Steins Gate. El Psy Congroo

Stein's Gate is my favorite anime, so I'm happy to hear that Steph is considering it might be hers! I've been partial to time travel ever since I was a kid and saw my favorite movie: Back to the Future, and I really like the original way it was presented here.

Exit

This is the only show I would comfortably call, a masterpiece

mimiyowa

Anonymous;Code is the closest thing I found by the same author to steins;gate. Deals with hacking stuff in the future, and instead of time travel you have a supercomputer that can simulate everything on earth on top of other conspiracies like Cicada, Vatican, etc.

Hanan

Dandadan and FullMetal Alchemist? are those the top 2 sad disturbing moments involving parents?

Flurpy Derp

Really enjoyed this watchthrough but one annoying thing was how often you guys paused. While I really like the discussion and theories I feel like this time it was really disruptive to the flow of the show especially when Okabe regained his confidence in episode 23. Keeping it more towards after the episode would be greatly appreciated!

Flurpy Derp

sorry if this was too critical but I love Steins;gate just as much as you guys and I hope you guys enjoy steins gate 0!

RCG

Not that I watch that many other reactors - just every now and then - but it's actually one of the things I like most about Wes and Steph: they just pause when they have something to say, instead of waiting until the end. Most other reactors that i know usually wait, and then often forget some stuff or details about what happened - or they just talk over the show without pausing and end up missing what's happening in the moment. But at the same time, I can see your point. Sometimes it can feel a bit out of place - sure, it happens - especially if you've already seen the show and want them to watch certain scenes without "breaks." Each approach has its pros and cons, I guess - I personally like it.

Flurpy Derp

Yeah that's fair I appreciate them not talking over the show as well. I don't think it bothered me at all during any of their other reactions and they should do what they feel is more natural but it just bothered me during the last two episodes of steins gate.

Runhua Tang

If you guys love "emotional parenting" moments, you should try watching Made in Abyss. It has the best father in all of anime I swear to god.

marco

cant wait for steins gate 0!

Yorutia

But that’s what’s beautiful about 0. This is still THE ending, just made even more earned.

pylonsf4

I'd wager Mushoku Tensei maybe?

Yorutia

Yes, rewatching episode 1 to see it from past Okabe’s perspective is so cool. Although I’d note it was a different scream than in this episode. In episode 1, Mayuri got the Metal Upa, so it was still in the beta world line. What we heard then was Okabe’s scream from last episode when he failed and Kurisu died. This is part of the reason why Okabe must fail once first in the beta world line, otherwise past him won’t investigate the scream and won’t see Kurisu’s body.

Renden

I would not mind if you guys went back and re-reacted to the first episode again.

Alex5AVA6E

I’m so glad you guys loved this show! It’s my 2nd favorite anime of all time behind AOT! And now I can’t wait for you guys to watch Steins Gate 0!!!! It’s also a masterpiece and also very satisfying!!! You’ll get answers to more questions you have and get to know the characters even more intimately!!!! Can’t wait to see the reactions! El. Psy. Honestly to say, watching this show in a chronological way will make you feel much more satisfied about this ending (I bet you guys feel even more sastified than you do now), I still remember 6 years ago, I almost cried when i finally reached this episode after watching many other parts of stein gates including the "zero" one. but for content purposes, you guys have to watch by year of release (since you guys are pretty smart)

26.Nguyễn Hữu Minh Tuấn

The reason I wrote this comment is because some people think that stein gates zero is unnecessary and I want to refute their thinking.

26.Nguyễn Hữu Minh Tuấn

honestly, I have watched a lot of reactors, and most of them will usually watch the whole anime as a respect and will leave their comments at the end of the video. During the watching process, they rarely talk, only expressing a little bit of emotion (there are also some reactors who try to talk fast but can't keep up with the next developments of the movie, leading to their words being easily forgotten by the viewers). that's why I feel like wes and steph are special cases and I really love the way they express their feelings and make hypotheses right in the scene of an anime. it's like they are really enjoying and trying to understand the content of the anime, that's why viewers often give them animes that have a little bit of logical thinking in it

Omer Durrani

Now on to ZERO! (After a few short weeks of OVA and movie xd)

Mike Q

So glad I timed the binge until you guys have watched episode 24. Stein's Gate is still among my top 3 animes despite being one of the first I've ever watched many years ago and this watch-through with you both has been a pleasure!

Nutz985

I wouldn't say there is little relation between each game, you can definitely enjoy the works on their own but you'd miss a lot of stuff and implications for the overall plot of the whole series. You mentioning Robotics;Notes is the perfect example of this because it has really important characters from Steins;Gate directly involved in the plot, that's not even mentioning its sequel Dash or A;C which require a lot more of prior series knowledge.

AC

I think you cried because the long suffering was finally over. I disagree heavily with pausing to watch all of Zero. From a pacing perspective, it’s superhumanly difficult to sit through an entire other arc before getting to the original ending. Without knowing that is a happy ending at the end, those episodes feel like a long slog. While I think that the chronological order has the potential to be the best viewing experience, I don’t recommend it to most viewers from an overall enjoyment perspective.

Adel

Amazing ending. While I love all the characters, Suzuha Amane is the GOAT—at least for me. I'm really happy and relieved that I found out that only one world line is active at any given moment, since that means the world lines where Suzuha realised that she wasted her life and committed suicide or never learned her father's name and questioned whether she succeeded or not in her dying bed never happenned. She deserves a chance at a better life.

Wes And Steph

Haha I would have freaked out if I learned Sern was real after watching it. And that’s why we love your guy’s comments!!

Tom Harris

I subbed for this reaction series. Loved hearing all your theories and reactions along the way to this masterpiece!

Godspeedhero

This was such an impactful anime back in 2010. You two cannot even imagine. I think part of what made me immediately fall in love with Re:Zero was how much it reminded me of Steins;Gate.
