The juice isn't the only time Lakan tested Shishou. He tells the company he's with that autumn has visibly arrived but all the trees have green leaves. They even pan out in one shot to show how green everything is. Someone who knew better would be like... "It looks like summer to me, Lakan."

I liked Lakan's scene in books better than in anime. In books he is acting goofy with this "oh look how I played with my wife" and then he suggested that he will deliver a copy of this match to Shishou and when Shishou decline Lakan is like "oh really? Maybe you should rethink this. I advice you to rethink things." Hinting that he already knows everything but still plays with his prey.

One of the main reasons the emperor hasn't had many children is because he only somewhat recently became emperor, like in the last few years. Before then he only had one concubine, Ah-Duo, who was unable to have anymore children. It's only in the last few years that he has started trying to have a bunch of children, so it's less like people have been sabotaging the baby factory and more like it's just gotten up and running.

Speak for thyself! 😂 I as an American loathe mint and so does everyone on my mom's side of the family. My father's side are the weirdos who like things like plain vanilla bean and mint lol (actually I like vanilla bean too but I'm also considered weird for it by people in my life 😅 or boring but honestly, not a fan of chocolate or strong flavors. I like my cookie dough)

😂 the names wouldn't be so similar if read how they're meant to be, but it's ok, these names are hard. Plus, it cracks me up when Wesley has a new pronunciation every time he says a name lol I think Wesley may be right at the end that Lakan thought Ah-Duo was Jinshi 😭 so the infos totally gonna get lost~ and I think.. um.. bug-girl was acting as informant and that's why she said "sorry maomao" but I don't think she's as deep in as the other 2, or she grew to love Maomao and Xiaolan so she might've tried to back out but Suirei might have taken her hostage for it. 🤔 Also, only if it helps, otherwise please don't worry about it too much, I think people bug too much on name pronunciations that are hard sometimes, but a little quick guide for how the Japanese is prouncing the S names are; Suirei = Swee-ray (with a tongue tap 'r' to your frontal hard palate as if going to do a rolling/trill Rrrr but stop on the first one so it sounds like a D. Hopefully this is helpful, this is practice for my linguistics lessons as well lol) Shishou = Shee-show Annnnd I forgot bug girls name.. 😅 Just remember Japanese pronounce their vowels consistently and like Spanish and you can fake most names. (eg. Maomao = Mah-o-mah-o so the A is the rounded Ah sound like Father, and the O is long as in Hope and the same applies to the others. Jinshi the I's are ee sounds Suirei, the EI is an Ay sound because E is Eh as Enter, and I after it makes it more like Eh-ee or Ay like May. Meimei would be May May. And U = oo btw like Moon) Hope that helps for the Japanese, which is what I use because that's how they are said in the show, but if anyone speaks Chinese, I'd love to hear about the differences if there are any 🥰

i say sue-ray for suirei because that helps me remember it, and shisui is just she-suey (similar to susie without the second s) gotta throw some susan's in there to help with the 'su' part lol (i hope that made sense)

name list for ur convenience!: shishou (she-show) - loulan's dad suirei (swe-ray) - handsome eunuch girl shisui (she-swe)- insect loving girl! also fun fact! :) in chinese, their names (using the same kanji characs) are pronounced differently. shishou's name is 子昌 zi chāng, suirei's name is 翠苓 cuì líng, and shisui's is 子翠 zi cuì

Lol nice. You actually have a really good system going ☺️ you're so close to Suirei's too. Just add an "ee" sound in the middle "Sue-ee-Ray" (had to tease Kinetic here lol) and when you get more comfortable with it, saying it quicker, it will get closer to the natural pronunciation 😄 I love these types of topics btw. In my linguistics class, one of the funniest lessons we did was after learning the phonetic alphabet (how linguists tie in pronunciation to locations of the mouth) we had to write movies, tv shows, and books with the phonetic alphabet and have partners try to figure out the title and it ended up being pure chaos lol but the fun thing is about trying to do this in English, examples are so hard to guess which to use because everyone pronounces things differently! So in my JPN class, I was helping my friend from the south and said "O is like Window" (via text message) and later when I heard her making mistakes in class I went to ask what the confusion was. Where she is from they say "Windæ" or "Windeh" 😂 so she started pronouncing the Japanese O as æ sounds. So I really make these correction type comments as practice for my learning how to teach others languages cuz my dream is to work in linguistic Anthropology. 🥰
