I can't remember if it's explained in the anime, but FWIW the "Return of Phoenix" subtitle is referring to Okabe's 'true name'. From the VN: > "First 'Houou' for 'phoenix', then 'in', and finally 'Kyouma' which means a 'horrible truth' that must never be revealed."

remember the way to trick the world and dance around the convergence is a knowledge that they dont have yet, they have most of the information as you guys where puting toguether a episode ago but still missing something

Also, for people who obsess over details like me, it was obvious that the attempt in this episode was doomed to fail the moment Okabe named the operation 'Vega.' If you remember, the video at the end of Steins;Gate called the successful plan 'Operation Skuld.' Some trivia about the namesakes: In Norse mythology, the three Norns are sisters who together determine the fates of individuals. In the Steins;Gate series, Okabe names his operations after them: Operation Urd (Past): The entire Phone Microwave experimentation, up until the creation of the Time Leap Machine. Operation Verthandi (Present): The process of undoing D-mails, recovering the IBN 5100, and deleting SERN's data and save Mayushi. Operation Skuld (Future): The final push to save Kurisu and reach the Steins;Gate world line. Now, Operation Arc-Light (a.k.a. Operation Vega) is a different case. Vega and Arc-Light are two names for the same star, and in Japan, the star is also called Orihime. This connects directly to the folk tale Mayuri used as a metaphor a few episodes ago. By naming it Vega, Okabe was signaling his full support for Mayuri's plan — it also carries some romantic undertones, with Vega/Orihime representing Mayuri and Altair/Hikoboshi representing Okabe.

I've easily seen this episode 60 times. The amount of emotion it produces in me is indescribable. I feel truly fortunate to be able to do so. Steins;Gate is my favorite work. It's so beautifully woven, it captures so well the essence of human existence, with its fragility and our ability to overcome adversity, that I consider it a masterpiece. A gift.

Despite this season not being as cohesive and tightly paced as the original, I still believe that this episode is perhaps the best in the entire series

This is one of the most memorable and impactful episodes of all time. I really like when shows are not afraid of spending "too much" time building up for the emotional moment. We spent literally a whole season watching depressed Okarin shut away his Hououin Kyouma persona, just to see him revived after 20 long episodes. But it just makes it so much more rewarding. It wouldn't have hit the same if they made this a 12/13-episode season (which they easily could but fortunately didn't).

He’s back! I didn’t even realize how much I missed him until this episode. 10/10 comeback.

In my case, I don't think it's the best of the series (neither S;G nor 0). But it is a wonderful moment. Especially because of the return of the Phoenix. It fits perfectly with the meaning they wanted to give to this episode. In my case, I've completed 100% of the S;G Visual Novel, being incredibly surprised by the alternate endings and the achievements (some of which are quite difficult to obtain), and I hope to be even more surprised by the Zero Visual Novel! I'm 25% through, and it's beautiful! Everything in this S;G universe is beautiful. My favorite work of fiction. Peace.

Having played the visual novel, I'm forgot how much content was cut in the anime. There was a part where they change world line and war happened earlier and the military knew people had memories of other world line by asking them if they know who is Putin (Putin is president in our world line, but the USSR was never dissolved in their world line so nobody calls him "president" Putin)

Reliving Steins;Gate once every year does so much for my mental health

Delete this comment or they will come for you. Basically you just admitted that you use a time machine every year to relive Steins Gate.
