As someone who lives in the uk I think our desserts are massively better than our hot food. And I think food like beans on toast and full English breakfasts are really nice but Americans turn their noses up at them without even trying it

I don't think Americans turn their nose up at English breakfasts (aside from the black pudding, potentially), but I have seen plenty rail against the classic 'simple' foods like beans on toast or fish and chips. I think its because they assume it'll taste like what they've eaten, when actually it's quite different (most American baked bean brands are disgusting or weirdly sweet, and from what I've seen a lot don't seem to understand that fish and chips is battered and you can add various sauces/seasonings, a lot just picture bad chips - or even crisps, if they don't know that slang difference - and bland fish) But honestly I think our hot food is much better than our desserts, in general - Pies, hotpots, stews, roasts, people underestimate the appeal of savoury in favor of sweet or spicy

i'm just saying, english breakfasts are class, meat pies (stake and ale especially) slap, our pastry game is underrated, deserts are pretty good, fish and chips, welsh rabbit, our stews are class, curries great, basically anything with meat or bread will slap in the UK

As a brit, im fully prepared to admit that our food might be less flavoursome in comparison so other countries, but if what everyone says is true about US food and its unnatural and unhealthy foods, then i simply dont care. Ive lived almost 20 years in britain, 8 of those years in a school that served english food and i never complained, so im happy
