If you love stories about "exploring strange places and discovering its origin", there's no better anime than Made in Abyss, which is basically the entire show :D

Xan

Guys please watch the intro at some point it has some spoilers but I'd say its no biggie or at least watch the intro after you finish (or towards the last few episodes once you've seen most of the series). It's an absolute banger.

YESS THE OPENING IS SOOO GOOD still one of my top fav openings

winter

these episodes really conveyed what hells paradise means 😭

Rostislav

They will love and hate that show 😂

Yuzuriha is my favorite... just like Makima from CSM, or Ubel from Frieren. I can fix them, I swear!

Rostislav

Delta Force1031 I think the next anime they will pick up as a non-ongoing series will be Made in Abyss. They are clearly going through the voting list to choose anime.

The moment I heard Wes said that, I knew someone was gonna comment this lol. I am still not sure about recommending Made in Abyss as a “good show”. But it is for sure a “good show to react to”, I will at least give it that.

I believe the monsters in the 2nd ep were reading off Bhuddist scriptures, but at the very least, that was Bhuddist philosophy (namely Japanese Bhuddism) 😊 I think the original I've heard way back when was "Murder is a sin, all life has meaning. From people, to insects, to fish, to trees, all life has meaning, and to take a life in excess is to harm the self" or something along those lines. 😅 wish I could say that more confidently but I was 10 lol. I just remember that it really emotionally impacted me and caused me to pick a fight with my friend's pastor/priest father and his entire congregation 😂 (he said Bhuddha was a false God and all the teachings were wrong and lies, but I was like "uh.. but Jesus spouted the same stuff though?" And got sent to Sunday school, where I was like "I'm not even part of this church, so I don't have to stay here" and walked home lol) The brother's are my fav duo besides a few others I shan't name yet x3 Blondie grew on me so fast

Sharrpfangs

Made in abyss would be a top tier next reaction honestly

I know I’d be dead already - ole boy that got seduced/killed by ninja girl was my self insert.

Holy Arathi

Jainism is the religion that believes all life is special. They even go so far as to cover their mouths with cheese cloth so as to not swallow bugs.

Holy Arathi

Agreed. Made in Abyss has some of the best world building I’ve ever seen. Top 5 anime for me for sure.

Holy Arathi

They’ll love it up until episode 7 then their worlds will get flipped upside down.

Micah Steinhoff

I really like that they touched on the "Only the powerful have the ability to be merciful/good." It's an unfortunate truth for violent or hierarchical societies that only the strong can afford mercy. You have to be ruthless. But I also like how the show juxtaposes that belief with "Don't lose sight of your goal when being ruthless." So many real-life people can start with good intentions then lose sight of their righteous ideals in the mess of politics, social standings, etc.

Lyraden

i think they are ready for Berserk tbh

Othinus

That scorpion & frog analogy hit SO hard xD

Frank Stendal

For some reason, this makes me want to watch Annihilation again.

BaileySSJ

“Might doesn’t make right but might allows you to do right”, that was an anime banger
