Bakugo's explosions come from his sweat being nitroglycerin. It's a liquid explosive but it explodes in a more "blunt" way with little flames vs something like napalm that explodes into flames that spread and are difficult to put out. So his explosions are more of an impact than a burn. Humans are also crazy resilient in this anime. Iida in his armor kicking you would be like getting hit by a car in real life

Even though he lost the match, Deku's heroic qualities still shine, he entered this tournament bracing himself to show the world what he can do just like All Might but chose to lose if it meant "saving" Todoroki. A true hero :)

Also what I would like to point out the scene where bakugo destroys the meteor shower with a huge explosion and says that was close he was referring to that his body couldn’t take another huge explosion like that and it almost was to much for him and I think that’s when he fully reconised her strength and figured that they were both reaching their limits they were at the same level in strength and that’s why at the end he called her by her actual name and ran at her the first time since the match began that’s why I think he makes him such a good character as after the end of s1 he has changed how he views people as underlings to worthy opponents in his strive to win also I love how he dosnt belittle her once nor talk down to her to his “friends” and in his own way respects her just the start of some of his amazing writing across the seasons lmao

I was just happy that we got Bakugo vs Ochako and did not even realize we would get Deku vs Shoto right afterward. Crazy good animation at the end, Bones delivers! I do not want to go too deep into it, since we will see more about that later on but it is basically like we saw in this episode. Even though what Bakugo said is true, that quirks have a limit to how much they can be used, each side of Todoroki’s quirk helps negate the strain the other side puts on his body. He will still get exhausted at some point but the combination of his quirks extends his stamina and power a lot and that is why his dad thinks he could even end up stronger than All Might. The opening is safe to watch now; we’re getting a new one after next week already.

One thing I really like about MHA is the sentimental aspect, it always gets to my feelings (well, I'm an emotional person anyway). Also, I love Deku so much 😭. The way he wants to help everybody… he's a true hero.

One of the reasons I love the Ochaco vs. Bakugo fight is #1 because of Ochaco and her resolve. She's so sweet and this is also just a beginning and a good lesson for her. #2 This is one of the first signs of Bakugo's growth that we see. He used to really underestimate Izuku and after Izuku beat him in that one exercise and saw how some of his other classmates can be so strong - he actively stopped underestimating anyone else. Deku vs. Todoroki is also one of my highlights in the whole series. If there's one thing about Deku, he will consistently try to save anyone - even an opponent at his own expense. It can be frustrating for us but that is just who he is and it always somehow pays off. When he tried to save Kacchan - he got All Might's power. This time, he's trying to save Todoroki and we got to see such an awesomely animated fight LMAO. Kidding aside, saving Todoroki's heart could only do great things for the rest of the series. I also love your discussions and theories about how they use their powers because it is actually pretty entertaining to imagine and think about the combat applications. What I love most tho is how those actually get explored throughout the show so I'm excited for you guys to find out whether your theories were right.

He said Kirishima’s name in the cavalry battle. I think the quickest way to get Bakugo’s acknowledgment is to meet him head on and act like you’re an equal whether you can actually beat him in a fight or not. He doesn’t actually seem to LIKE people around him cowering or fawning too much

I love these episodes so much ! and it makes me so sad to see his siblings playing outsite without him but deep down you know they're also victims of abuse if their (trash) father dont even acknowledge them :( Thank you so much for this amazing reaction ! it's so satisfying to watch reactors who understand the nuances in Bakugo's caracter. He called Uraraka by her full name and that's respect in Bakugo's book LOL. Anyways, this serie is just gonna keep getting better and better~

Ep 9 single handedly gave birth to one of the most infamous ships of the entire anime community: Ochako x Bakugou. Apparently, a lot of people saw romantic tension between them after seeing this episode, leading to tons of Ochako x Bakugou fanarts that even exeeded the "vanilla" Ochako x Deku fanarts. Even today, Kacchako is still one of the most popular ships in the fandom lol.

something to take account in the deference in power of todoroki and deku is that todorki is training his power since he was 5 deku just started and like they said quirks are like muscles so todorki is like a pro athlete compared to deku

I love how this show develops characters ... except for 1 character who has not been introduced yet (which I think is the only character not done right) ... these characters, there is a lot more to them that is not yet revealed 🥰🥰🥰 So just watch all the characters and see their arcs, even if you feel like you hate them in the moment 😅 even the "pervy" ones grow on you 😅

So about Bakugou's power not burning her, there's two reasons for that. 1:Anime fire rarely actually causes fire damage (which is so funny to me) 2: The author said Bakugou's control over his quirk is so advanced that he uses exactly as much power as needed to hurt people without causing permanent damage

it is still crazy to me that Bakugo could get just as badly hurt like Deku with One for All. for anyone interested & watching in 2026 <3: the explosions Bakugo can make have a recoil, and his own body has to withstand that force so if he accidentally lost control of the blast he could end up hurting himself a lot. Interesting fact is also that he learns to use that pain, from the explosions traveling through his body as timing information, allowing him to coordinate additional blasts. So he essentially becomes better at controlling something that is physically painful to him. I dunno it is quiet sad I would say 😅
