Steph might unironically have an easier time reading the HxH manga than most others because there's sooo much text. I'm pretty sure there are a couple pages with no drawings at all and just text too at points, it's one of the biggest criticisms of the manga

Just saying here that nen as a power system is further developed in the manga and some of the intricacies in battles and other uses are shown more as the manga focuses on humans so far, which is to answer Wes's little critique on it. A quick insight into the manga if you want to read it, not really a spoiler, but just maybe to pique your interest, so read if you like: The story's focus moves past Gon and Killua and centers around Kurapika. Though in general basically every character that was important in the past is brought into this arc in some way, which is super cool.

It was so exciting to see "Part 1" in the title, anything to prolong HxH experience on this awesome channel lol It made me (for the first time since I subscribed) to realise that your strentgh lies not only in poignant reactions, but also in the reviewing stuff, you're really good at catching the essence of particular storytelling and analything it in the most engaging way. So while this was not a reaction video, Q&A session was great and fun (despite brutally depressing last question lol). Thanks, guys! Steph telling the difference between reading visual novels (specifically manga) and ordinary novels with a lot of text; I totally can relate to it as absorbing information visually is very important for me and looking at any kind of drawings does take more time than reading hundred pages of plain text. Wes hating Tonpa and loving Bisky - hard agree on both fronts!! I also respect that Wes is able to appreciate Illumi as a character despite his obvious evil nature. And it's hilarious that you're both like Hisoka, I would have never guessed that development for you in the beginning of the show lol There were so many other interesting stuff in your Q&A! Patiently waiting for Part 2 next week! P.S. A bit of nitpicking, but it was Silva who killed Cheetu, not Morel (he defeated Leol instead). But your point still stands - Morel's usage of his nen powers is incredibly smart.

Sorry for the depressing questions but my intention was not that. Personally I think Meruem had a happy ending. His head was as clear as it could be(no regret, no fear, no pride), he got to do what he enjoyed the most and he died peacefully with his loved one. I don't how many people actually get any of these during their last time. I feel bad for Komugi. But when she said she was born to be there that day made it little better. A suggestion if you can do Hunter x Hunter music reaction separately. It was really some of the music ever.

Fair response regarding reading the manga, I just wish I had as much optimism about the anime continuing considering how long everything is taking =/. But since the amazing fantasy romance anime Spice and Wolf is getting a remake and continuation after 15 years I guess anything is possible. Fingers crossed. And yeah, the 1999 version only completely adapted to the end of the YorkNew arc and then did OVAs for the greed island arc but Chimera arc was still being written

I am really hoping for "Saga of Tanya the Evil" for the next anime. It's short with 12 episodes and a movie and season 2 coming out this year.

Monogatari would be great but I afraid they really cultivated shonen audience reacting to 3 shonens! And I don't really want it but I feel like they might react to naruto, bleach or even black clover next! And again I will recommend them something really mature like Monster! Or something completely different and unique like Monogatari or Made In Abyss!

I know you guys probably know about this already, and it might not be the best thing to mention here, but it might be helpful to make a Patreon Community Chat where the community can kinda talk outside of the video comments sections. That way we can coordinate on stuff like the HxH questions, answer the random people's inquiries about uploads or anime suggestions, or just to talk about the shows or reactions. You probably could even split it up into two separate KDrama and Anime chats (I think the limit is ten?). Just something to consider.

I think netero definitely cannot take out the royal guards together, also maybe only my head cannon I think that the fight with pitou alone is 50 50m Also it is important to mention that the performance netero had against the king is not something he can do all the time, he had to meditate for days or maybe weeks to be in that mindset

4:15 I'm sure someone already posted that, so I'l say only shortly. It wasn't stated in the anime itself, but Gon lost he's ability to control or even sense Nen. So now he is just a normal boy (Well, super-athletic, but nothing besides that)

I forgot to post this on the last video, but I'm not sure I agree with this idea that Gon's friendship with Killua was hurt as badly as you guys are suggesting. IMO Killua's sadness as they were parting was the pain of splitting up, not of broken bonds. Killua has been hurt, sure, but it's a wound that he's gotten over enough to make jokes about it. Killua and Gon's honeymoon phase is over, that's all. Also, them splitting up makes sense for the practical reason(s) Killua described. As Wes said, he is willing to set aside his desires for his responsibilities, and that's what he's doing here. Sure, Gon could come with Killua and help protect Alluka, but he'd be a distraction, and someone would end up being the third wheel. Killua is choosing Alluka over Gon because he believes this is the right thing to do, but I guarantee you, in a few days Killua will be missing him. Alluka even told Gon "I'll bring him back to you", suggesting she knows this is a temporary thing for her benefit.

When Netero first sensed Pitou, he opined that Pitou's nen was stronger than his, though power and skill are two different things. I think Netero could take on any one of the royal guards individually and walk away from the fight without major injuries. But that assumes he could fight them solo like he did Meruem, which I don't think they'd let him do. If he was teamed on, it'd be over.

I just think that he doesn't have the fire power to at least finish of pitou or youpi. I see it as a battle of attrition and that netero would run out of nen before dealing a lethal blow.

I'm the same Steph, big book reader but never tried reading manga, I've seen a good amount of anime by now though so I've been considering giving it a go. I've got my eye on Beserk currently, I've never seen the anime but heard the manga is incredible. My favourite book is Lord of the rings, I read it yearly, as well as the Silmarillion

Well, given what you talked about you’d really enjoy the manga! Some of the things you want to see are further explored almost directly after the Election Arc. I’ve heard Viz Media is worth the price but ymmv.

Yall really need to read the manga cuz realistically they’re not making any more episodes, the 2011 anime adaptation stopped airing in 2014 at the end of the election arc because there was not enough content for them to adapt same reason they stopped making episodes with the 1999 version they probably won’t give the series another chance, they have no reason to make new episodes mainly because the manga isn’t done and there is no telling that togashi will keep making content. Right now we’re in a pretty good spot because togashi is currently working on the manga and giving us updates, so it isn’t on hiatus anymore but we’re still at the start of the arc ongoing in the manga right now and so much stuff already happened. I don’t think it’s too crazy to say but what’s happening right now in the manga is probably the most interesting and compelling story in manga/anime ever and would be kinda of disappointing for y’all to miss it, you guys should really think twice about not reading the manga Most of the stuff u guys said you want to see was/is explored in the current manga and it would be a real bummer for y’all to miss it

I agree with you guys so much about the pacing. For me it was done just right. I've rewatched HxH many times on my own time and with reactors but I never got bored with the chimera ant arc's pacing. I especially didn't feel any pacing problem when I was rewatching with you guys because I could tell you were really enjoying it. Also with Welfin, I remember when early on he was introduced and you started liking him early I thought that that is good because as you now know he plays a significant role by the end of the arc. I do agree with some criticism that a few episodes were not placed well. For example, the Ikalgo vs Welfin episode. That episode by itself is actually really good, but it was wedged between the episodes where Meruem vs Netero was teased and the start of the fight so it did feel like the Ikalgo vs Welfin fight caused a delay on the really big fight. Though I think because you loved Ikalgo and Welfin you just enjoyed the episode without thinking much about what it's delaying which also made me just enjoy it with you guys.

It's been YEARS. Go ahead and read the manga. The anime will still be interesting if they ever continue it even if you already know what's going to happen. I say this as someone who has watched many excellent manhwa, manhua, and manga anime adaptions. One of the most rewarding ones was Solo Leveling because the animated fights were pretty satisfying even if there was significantly less exposition and explanation in the anime version.
