Hype!

yahdier

W one piece

yusuke

At 1:14:08 That panda you see popping up in One Piece isn’t random — it’s a joke character called Panda Man. Oda hides him in the background of episodes and chapters just for fun, usually in crowds or chaotic scenes. He doesn’t matter to the plot at all. It’s basically a Where’s Waldo thing for fans. Oda does it to mess around, reward people who pay attention, and keep the series playful. Once you notice him, you’ll start seeing him everywhere 😭

Lars Scheinert

My god the next episodes gonna be peak One Piece. Its only gonna get better from here😭

sharmarke ahmed

best arc in the first half of the show SOON so excited

Infinite Winds

The peak of the first 600 or so episodes being so soon is not something to get excited about, so I pray this is an unpopular opinion

sharmarke ahmed

Its an extremely unpopular opinion its my personal favorite but most people prefer 3 other arcs pre 600 episode mark + I rebuke thats something to not be excited about just cause somethings an 11/10 doesn't mean others that are 10/10s aren't also amazing to be fair.

StrawHatYa

Def an unpopular opinion, theres not much people who have AP as their best arc. Nonetheless, like the other person said, just cause something they think is the "best" doesnt mean the other contenders arent also in the "best" category. Theres a whole lotta 10/10 to be spread around. Because there is defintely a plethora of arcs in that span that people would consider in that category. If you know you know. I tried my best typing this without mentioning the arcs for no spoilers lol

Vincent Lee

the anime censored it but in the manga zeff ate his leg for sustenance

mogeki

Have you considered looking at the SBS's? They are a Q&A segment present in the manga release of One Piece where Oda answers questions. It even explains Pandaman, the panda you saw on Don Krieg's crew.

Billbob

Zeff ate his leg for sustenance* Yeah, whereas in the anime without edits they instead show him getting his leg caught while trying to save sanji. Hope if they do follow through with the remake they dont try to make the early arcs as kid friendly now that it has secured its own reputation plenty. But at least its not as bad as the 4Kids dub censorships lol

Billbob

"That's the saddest backstory" ... so far at least...

Swi2th

Tbh, I like the anime better. I like the idea of hurting yourself to save someone than eating yourself to save yourself. I was an anime only, so when I knew the original is different, it was a surprise. But weighing it side by side, I pick the anime better

RCG

I don’t like the Luffy vs. Krieg fight that much but besides that, the Sanji arc is really good. His backstory always gets me. Before I watched the live action version, I didn’t even know that Zeff actually ate his leg. Never read the manga and only watched early One Piece on TV, where they censored a lot of stuff, including this. Zeff still lost his leg to save Sanji but I guess cannibalizing himself was a bit too much. Sanji was probably my favorite character early on but at some point they just overdid one of his characteristics, at least for me. The next arc is also really good; definitely a fan favorite.

KingKuto

Being a strawhat ain't about how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward 😂

Derpin

Even though the results were in favor of the straw hat crew Don Krieg did win his fight.

Hængeklumpen

it's not like we see him eating his leg in the manga. it's him saying it that was cut.

Renden

I dunno if it's just me, but it feels like the author is having a hard time writing morally gray characters? It seems as if there's only really nice guys or really bad guys, and sometimes the really bad guys do something to show that ACTUALLY they were really nice all along. Is that just a characteristic of One Piece? Also, is that something that gets addressed and is improved later?

OwenReyn

Yeah I agree the start of the show seems pretty black and white for who's good and evil, and there is no shortage of comically evil villians but a lot of morally grey characters do to start to be more and more fleshed out throughout the story. Even in this arc tho I feel like Gin and mihawk both acted not outright evil but not kind either.

Adams

One thing i like about one pace is that they kinda removed toei censoring of zeff cutting his leg. In the original anime footage they made it look like he lost it while rescuing Sanji in the water but in the manga we saw him use a rock to cut it to survive hunger

Adams

Well at least it is the best arc of this saga for sure, personnaly it's the arc that got me totaly hooked

John Spartan

Usopp has a rich, beautiful soon to be doctor girl waiting for him back home, he's not gonna fumble that lol

V

Steph freaking about the leg being eating had me dying🤣

NoSoupRice

Certain pink character who is a señor 💔

NoSoupRice

Zeff the whole episode was just :🫩

Mad Man Moon

17:00ish - marginal utility. It's been talked about by many, but to see the most rational view of it, look at the Austrian school and the marginal revolution, with its later thinkers as well. Carl Menger, Eugen von Bohm-Bawerk, Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, and the contemporary economist Robert P. Murphy.

Ethereal

In general, it will continue to be that way. One Piece isn't that type of story, and there's nothing wrong with having different types of stories. There might be an odd character or two that are more gray. Early OP is definitely more black-white. At this point the grayest character is probably Nami.

Joshua Moore

The panda in the pile of people is a running gag

Michael H

Definitely more of the classically morally grey characters you are likely thinking of later on, but I would still call both Zeff and Gin morally grey in this video.

Michael H

There’s a theory that an executive at Toei has a hatred of Sanji for some reason because that characteristic you are talking about is massively enhanced in the anime compared to the manga, and they also downplay several of his showcase scenes from the manga, especially compared to how they handle Zoro’s scenes. Hopefully the remake doesn’t do our boy as dirty 😂

Ziletic

In the manga they were stranded on the rock MUCH longer. 85 days, but the anime shortened it to 47.
