They will hear and read the characters say Mei and still continue to call her "Mai" They're gonna do her like they did Lena and "Lina" in Eighy Six, won't they 😭😭

Thats honestly one of the things I find most confusing about people mispronouncing names like if you are having a hard time just listen to how the characters say it like it obviously doesnt work all the time like when the names arent japanese so the voice actors dont say them correctly but it works 90% of the time and its the way I was able to remember some hard names like Bertholdt.

I still prefer that then when they tried to listen too closely to how the names were pronouncied and started calling Rem and Ram "Remay" and "Ramay" 😭

Mei isn't even a difficult word though, it's just like saying "May" in english so i really don't get the struggle this time around lol

Nah it's different some people read and hear the voice, it substitutes it. Like when you hear a song some don't isolate any instruments. That's how I always viewed it. Watched anime for over a decade I still read the name memorize in english, despite pronounciation because the language is not worth processing unless I want to learn it.
