For (Japanese/Korean) idols - big deal. However, even there there is some variation. It could depend on the idol group's image / concept. Are they one that breaks all manners of social rules? Did they already announce dating is allowed at the start? There could also be older idols (+28y women) who are still in the group where the fans would be more lenient if they did end up having a boyfriend. For conventional voice actors, no one cares, but in the past +10 years there have been a cultivation of idol-voice actor hybrids who are part of a 2D idol franchise, conventionally attractive, and are idol-like in anything but the name. They could bump into a scandal since their image is so curated to be idol-like. Then there were a few older popular male voice actors (in their 30s~40s) who keep their marriage low-key. Sometimes it gets revealed later that they've already been married for 5~10 years. Though it's not that common. Voice actor marriages get announced regularly. There are Youtubers, Twitch streamers, and so on... The point is really what image do you cultivate towards your fans. Do you act like their stand-in gf/bf? Do you encourage parasocial bonding? That's the type of audience that will disengage or make a big deal out of it once the dating is revealed.

Was that idol girl at the start dating Wilbur Soot or what

17:20 Am I crazy, or was that Daru's voice from Stane Gate?

About the voice actors..yeah..In Japan there is also a kind of expectation, specially for female VA, to be single, its really weird and it has been getting "better" in recent years. Like nowadays, VAs would get support even if they announce they are married or have a couple. But it is still prevalent to get some hate. Not too long ago(like 6 months ago) there was kind of controversial when Makima's VA(chainsaw-man) announced her marriage, there were a lot of hate comments on her announcement post and even post about people literally burning Her merchandise, under the pretext that they "felt betrayed".

This show is soooo damn good at showing the toxic side of entertainment industries. I'm gonna try not to go on a rant again, but it really does bother me the things I've witnessnessed. Firstly, even in Kpop, G-Dragon after getting caught dating, he admitted he was in love the girl and wanted his fans to be nice to her, and there were so many attacks against both of them it forced them to break up. Later he said he would've married her, but didn't want to risk her life because by attacks, I mean "acid attacks" and physical, ect. Not just verbal. 2. Point that got me heated in this ep. What that woman did to Kana is called fishing. Whether she was trying to target Kana or the director (and whether Ruby set it up or not) she did what in the J-ent called fishing, where you lure someone out into people, put them in a precarious situation, and have it ready to get evidence so that you can humiliate them. I believe I talked about this before, how it used to happen to my friend all the time, which is why this bothers me so much. He was really psychologically damaged from the venom thrown at him. (Explaination for those curious and hadn't seen me discuss this problem before, I'll try to keep it short): In visual kei and in Host/Hostess clubs, both have this kiss and don't tell attitude. Neither pay enough to live on though w/o offering special services. It is rampant in underground vkei and hosting that they all have a extra phone for offering dates for money. Sometimes, all it is is a date. Sometimes, like with my friend with unchecked issues at the time, they'd go further. Mind you, most fans are totally fine with this as long as you pay them attention at shows. The second they get insecure or jealous? They will mock, harass, and stalk. There's a website like Reddit or 4chan dedicated to vkei bands gossip or just humiliation circles, and my friend had the most posts on there that he would go check and get upset. Eventually he got this "please don't look me up" mentality and prefers to be anonymous because of his history, but let's just say I got curious and omg the shit people did and said to him left me bawling. They fished him so much, would take all sorts of photos of him in precarious situations and put them online to be mocked. Photos of him unconscious, in the shower for proof it was him (he has a distinct look) and ya there was just.. a lot. Actually we did sort of laugh at the things they mocked together (like nobody could ever say he was bad or small. Only comments like he's loud or uh.. stuff I won't say here that were about fluids. Weird shit like that lol) at one point to cheer ourselves up over it, but it's really sad and disgusting so I have a special hate reserved for "celebrity gossip" and "scandals" because their job shouldn't make their dignity as a human go away. They even experience anxieties we can't begin to understand as normal people, such as for eg. Vkei, they prefer to remain anonymous because that's the nature of the industry. They're selling a fantasy like Geisha so they use fake names, fake phones, fake profiles, all the things. But they are always paranoid that someone will find them in a situation they don't want found. So ya, like I said, my friend has a VERY distinct look, so he worries about going out. He will only drive himself, go to certain places during the day and prefers to be out at night. We'll we found out on that toxic chat site, they had posted his grandma in the hospital, his mom's name, his car, where he lived (so he moved back with his family) and he always had anxieties that his persona and his personality don't match, so people won't like the real him. Developed severe imposter syndrome over it. This also makes me think of poor Corpse Husband too, who was so fetishized and dehumanized he felt like he could never be just himself and developed severe paranoia and self-image issues too. It's such a weird, gross thing fans end up doing

Ya'll I'm getting scared that the thing that take Akane out of the triangle is her digging too much, and that's how Akua and Kana end up together 🫣 Or Akane goes crazy yandere "I'll kill him for you"
