I've never watched a K-drama before, but... I saw a picture on your Patreon, read the description, and this show reminded me of the Chinese fantasy novels in the Xianxia and Xuanhuan genres that I used to love reading. Diantian, qi, meridians, super-experts reincarnating into trashy bodies (lol) I guess I’ll give this K-drama a try if that’s what it’s about—we’ll see how long I last. But I’m a little worried that the description says there’s a stronger focus on the romantic storyline, which I’m not really into

I wouldn't really say there's a stronger focus on the romance. It's about equal. There's still a lot more world-building and magic going on imo.

So I just want to keep track of your questions lmao because soul-shifting can get so confusing 1. Whose soul is in Jang Gang's body? 2. If the king is dead, whose soul was in the body who died and who's currently ruling? 3. Did Mu-deok's original soul (the blind girl) actually leave the body due to the absence of the blue mark on her body? 4. If blind girl's soul didn't leave the body, does she switch with Naksu when she is "asleep?" I can't wait for the next episode.

Crazy, I just finished this show last week and I’ve always wondered when Mu-deok talks, does she have some kind of accent or dialect? She always ends her sentences with a certain sound, and I’ve never found an answer for why.

It’s not really an accent/dialect. She’s speaking very formally but she’s doing so sarcastically. Hence her tone and inflections at the end of her sentences. I think it's also meant to imply she's rarely ever spoken to people with such respect. She's forced to now, thanks to living as MuDeok (who has very lowly status), but it's still Naksu in there haha You'll notice, when she speaks as "Naksu" (aka when she stops playing the character of Mudeok) she doesn't have that same "accent." You even hear it in this episode (55:44) and as a result of speaking as "Naksu" she's told to speak with honorifics/respectfully

Honestly, I was soooo excited for you to watch this drama because is one of my favs of all time. Two fun facts… The prince is actually Jin’s friend that you watched on Run Jin Squid Game ep. He is hilarious both on and off the show. And then one of the main characters, is played by Arin a member of the girl group Oh my girl. You are gonna meet so many great actors and characters in this show!!

All I'm gonna say is, the Naksu we saw at the beginning of the episode was Naksu. That was her original body (she was just younger in the flashback). Shifting into MuDeok is the first time she's done it. Can't speak to everything else you asked/discussed, otherwise I'd prob spoil something haha. Answers are coming soon enough

1:06:44 That's not his mom. That's the head maid of the house. Seeing as Uk's mom is dead and his father isn't home, she oversees Uk's care and the management of the home. His mom is in the painting he and the head maid were staring at (the one the king slept with at the beginning of the show).

This is not set in china history. Korean have joseon which is the center city back in history days and the set design is based on Korean style. Chinese style is completely different,not like this.

AOS really is peak fantasy kdrama. Cdramas are the best at them and AOS felt like something you’d find in a cdrama.
