One of my fav characters finally introduced ♥️

Narawin971

12:01 yesss haha. That's when you realize/remember that Horikoshi used a lot of wordplay for his characters' name lol. My fav is Bakugou (Katsuki). here's a copy/paste for the explanation : is written in Japanese "爆豪", and it literally translates to "bomber". The first character also features in the Japanese words denoting "explosion" (爆発 – "bakuhatsu") and "bomb" (爆弾 – "bakudan"), so the explosive nature of the character's Quirk and personality is a heavy motif in his name. The given name Katsuki, written "勝己" is written with the characters for "victory" and "the self" . 13:10 Suika is my fav character ! my sweet little pumpkin who deserves the whole world 20:58 Anpanman is a manga character who's a super hero with his head made out of bread and he helps others by giving a piece of his head. BTS has a song named Anpanman which is very fun ! (easy in my top 20 !). During their concert, anpanman's stage was half of the time the boys having fun on inflatable structures and the other half actually performing. so many cute moments came out of that stage :')

Helping people then forcing them to compensate through labor? Lloyd Frontera would be proud!

Gen is here!

Wesley doesn't know he can punch lightning with his dad strength

Kindyh Bordat

I don't think they sleep with their baby in the past, they probably had a special bed of straw. (Well, same as today i guess)

Bambi

"What type of girl do you like" "One who can pump a ton of oxygen into the furnace" is one of my favorite senku lines lmfaoo

Kret

Yes gold is conductive not as much as copper and white silver though it's normally used as a coating for other better contdoctive metal because gold doesn't tarnish or rust the main issue is getting enough of it and it's relatively low melting temp which is why it's often used in higher quality home electronics where it's not going to have too much electric flowing at once off the top of my head and example being some HDMI cables containing gold

Buying labor with salt and beer? That practice still happens. Pizza and beer is how I paid for my friend's labor the last time I moved! 🙂 Also, as a DM, I won't refuse players 'paying' for my services with snacks. Though... I guess since it's optional and not transactional, it's less a payment and more of a "tithe"... 😈

One thing to mention about the cattle; there is no guarantee that there would be cattle in Japan. It has been 3700 years since humanity turned to stone, and not all domesticated animals (cows, chickens, sheep) live naturally in the same location. In history, most of the 'useful' animals like that lived nearest to the Fertile Crescent and were likewise domesticated there. Places like North and South America did not have those animals until colonists brought them over. They only had difficult-to-tame buffalo or, at best, llamas. So, as long as there were no humans to keep them alive and propogate them, it could be entirely likely that there were no easily farmable animals on all of Japan.

Gelondil

I think it's a bit much to say that there would be no farmable animals in the entirety of Japan. Japan is not a small island, and has been home to a lot of native, endemic fauna that can be farmed or hunted for meat, and that survived for thousands or million years before humans and would still be around after. Some of them (goats, especially) are sources of milk. Though if it's milk they want, a more easily acquired source would be soybeans.

Renden

I agree with that statement! It is entirely possible that those animals made it, and they still live on Japan. I did not say they couldn't in my post, and my point was that it was probably not likely that domesticated animals would do well without the aid of humans, especially in an environment that was not their natural habitat.

Since Wesley realized Kaminari means lighting , here’s another fun fact: Kaminari’s full name is Kaminari Denki. Denki means electricity. It was mentioned a few times in this episode

Westerschwelle

You can still express the value of something via the equivalent hours of socially necessary labour it cost to produce. It's called the labour theory of value.

Mike Q

I remember watching this episode and when they lit up the night sky, I knew this was going to be a special show. Makes you truly appreciate science and engineering and how far humanity has come.

Alvaro Vesga

One of the best characters from this show makes his debut!

I mean, yeah. In very very ancient times, nighttime was a huge issue for most visibility. That said, we've handle candles for a LONG time and before that, we had torches. It wasn't like complete darkness before the light bulb.
