When will y’all react to opm season 3

Yorutia

Your DM is too kind. If my players blasted an innocent child with fireball, accident or not, that child is dead. 😂

Kasturi

My Euiniiii TT Someone( ) hug this child. Kukrow doesn't deserve to be a master, that slimy eel. and i hate that teachers like him exist in the real world.

RCG

Probably never. There was a vote in the past on whether they should watch it because of the poor quality of the season and it didn't pass.

It's such a small moment, but something I love is Agott declaring that she'll win because of her house while also talking with her mouth full and crumbs on her cheeks. Our read hasn't been totally wrong, she's a bit cold and demanding and sets a high standard for herself and others, but she's also still a child and Qifrey makes sure never to forget that. She's an excellent student, so seeing her from the perspective of Coco and the other kids makes her seem like a step above everyone else, but the key word there is student. At the end of the day she's still just a kid with a complex who needs care and guidance, just like her classmates.

RCG

Are there any benefits for the master? Why does he even have an apprentice in the first place? It doesn't seem like that guy is interested in him at all. Or does he simply not care anymore because he doesn't think he's "good enough" to be his student?

It's so interesting because I identify really hard with Richeh specifically. Especially growing up. It was always a chore to do things that other people wanted me to do, but I myself didn't. For example, with sports, I've always been naturally athletic, but hated being hot and tired and was just generally not interested. My dad, who saw my talent for sports, tried so hard to push me in that direction, but would get frustrated with me when I would stop trying. Same concept with peer pressure and things of that nature. I was just so uninterested in what other people were doing and hated when they would try to get me to do things I myself didn't want to do. I think it was mainly because I had my own interests, but I felt like no one was respecting them. Instead they would just project their perception of me onto the real me, and I found it so annoying. Idk what Richeh's reasons are, but that's mine lol

I think Richeh makes a lot more sense if you look at magic as an allegory for the process of learning art, which is almost certainly intentional on the part of the author, who’s said that the idea for Witch Hat Atelier came from someone saying that the process of making an illustration is like magic. With that in mind… If you want to improve at art, you have to challenge yourself by stepping out of your comfort zone by drawing things you don’t know how to, studying the fundamentals, as well as other artists to observe how they solve problems. But there’s also people who want to draw just for the fun of it, and don’t necessarily care about improving, and just draw what they want to draw. And that’s a completely fine approach if that’s all you want to do, but you are limited in what you’re able to accomplish if you don’t challenge yourself to improve. Since art is about expressing yourself and your experience, there’s the fear of your own art becoming diluted by studying other artists or the fundamentals, and sometimes, the fundamentals are pushed as the “correct” way to start learning, or that you have to start with realism. If the spells you create are similar to an art style, Richeh probably ties a lot of her identity to the spells that she likes and creates, and all that is further affected by her prior experiences. You can see this in other ways, such as when Coco talks about the more she learns, the more she’s impressed by the complexity of magic and what others have managed to accomplish. I feel this in my bones. As an artist, there’s so much that I relate to in Witch Hat Atelier, it’s one of my biggest inspirations.

The boy looks a bit like h games protagonist don’t let him join qifrey i am worried

i need to re-read this arc, but i was under the impression that Kukrow has other apprentices. it could be that he takes in naturally gifted kids (or relations of more accomplished witches, maybe?) and take credit for their success. he probably doesnt like having to actually put in the effort with Euini.

Kasturi

He feels like he just wants the added respect of being a master. I don't remember him having any other apprentice in the manga but the way he talks, it's like he tries to poach genius kids and just take credit for their success (as kplrn kindly mentioned in their comment). Having an apprentice also marks the achievement of passing the last test, maybe that's why he's accepting apprentices...? Who knows what goes in kukrow's 'smaller than almond' head.

kplrn

i havent gone back and check but i believe i thought Kukrow had other apprentices because (minor spoiler?) Euini was fantasizing about being praised as his "best apprentice", so that gave me the impression he had others. whether at the same time as Euini, idk

Kasturi

Now I'm doubting my memory too. I need to recheck that portion..

Super Gamer Q
