LETS GOOOO

Marko Genter

ah the next 2 episodes are so peak

BlackFlame

So I think someone did mention it before, but i will just reiterate in case you guys missed it, the mangaka behind Dr stone started off as a Hentai illustrator, called doujinshi, so you will see his bad habits crop up in some chapter panels here and there. But it’s still suitable for kids, PG13 for sure. Edit: to the people replying, I agree with all of you, I myself find no issue with it, i was just giving some funny context. I personally enjoy the little bit of fan service, I mean who wouldn’t, compared to One piece and most other anime’s this is nothing. 🤣

Gary

A fun fact is Senku's family name is "Ishigami" which can be read as "Stone God". An interesting pun given the context of the plot and the name of the show.

Alvaro Vesga

Great reaction as always, hope your kids are doing better now thanks to the power of science, next episodes are amazing!

Kindyh Bordat

Its the diamond or precious gem episode right ? Its been years since ive watched doctor stone.

Marko Genter

Only the artist tho not the writer.

A Guy

I wouldn’t call it necessarily a bad habit. It’s not like it’s anywhere near as explicit. A little cheekiness never hurt anybody.

The Anime Dude

Glad the kiddos are feeling better! Some scary stuff when you can’t figure out what’s wrong!

Michael H

Ugh that scene…I mean, this is a kid’s show ultimately, no? I just don’t get how the studio/mangaka can justify to themselves slipping in a shot like that. Been watching anime for years and the incongruity of kid demographic and hypersexualization still weirds me out.

domi

It is a bad habit if it takes you out of the immersion, which at least the one in this episode did, for me. It just comes out of nowhere. But also, I dont think it's that much of an issue as the show goes on, at least from what I can remember.

nik

its a shounen. So for teen boys. It's not a kid's show. For any teenage boy. Shounen always have fan service like that. It's not exactly a shot that they "slip" in, it's normal for shounen anime. Fan service is in almost every anime.

Barry

I was expecting worse from what people were saying. Its weird and offputting but a child won't get why is dirty at least.

Barry

If its konosuba nobody is going to bat an eyelid but its jarring to see in a wholesome show. Definitely not bad for a child to see that scene since they have no context for it.

Leonard Martinez

I remember laughing out loud when I saw this episode and that shot of her taking the sulfa drug. Caught me off guard.

Michael H

@nik I know shounen always have fan service. That’s what my whole comment was about. And the 11/12/13 year olds who are targeted are still very much kids, so it’s still very much weird. Just because it is normal in these shows does not make it any less off-putting. I’m a huge anime fan, but I knew I would get backlash over this comment, and that is actually the weirdest thing of all to me—this should not be a hot take, but I know it is.

TheSlothSmile

Glad the kids are feeling better, persistent sickness is the worst especially if it comes with other stuff like the tonsils, the show makes you appreciate modern technology so much and how much culmination of knowledge is used day to day.

starrk

Can't wait for next week! Really good cliffhanger. Senku's last name being Ishigami and him finding out that the name of the village is Ishigami Village. The show is just gonna get better and better from here on out.

MikiMiki

16:41 my man Boichi showing us why he is a legendary artist

domi

Even if you dont post them both this week I really hope you can watch the next 2 episodes together, so you can enjoy them better <3

Arian Abdolahy

It's only dirty if you know what it resembles. To a kid it's normal.
