W One Piece

Atlas Creation

It’s harder to avoid the titles when watching One Pace. They kinda just.. shove it in your face. In the original cut, titles have their own little section, which are really easy to look away from. In the future, there are some absolutely ludicrous spoilers from titles and idk how we’re gonna navigate that.

Tsatsa

I knew you guys would love skypiea!!!

Sanam99

you guys should do 10 episodes

RCG

I wouldn't stress too much about the titles. Especially in One Pace you basically can't avoid them. At the same time, they don't seem to be as spoilery as the original episode titles, so it should be fine. For example, in the original episode where Robin joined the crew, the title instantly spoiled it. In One Pace, that didn't happen. So I'm assuming that, unlike the original, they try to avoid major title spoilers in One Pace.

The Anime Dude

I know some people complain when that this arc seems a bit isolated from the rest of the world / story, but the Skypia lore / backstory is so interesting. (Love that we start delving more into lore & history after getting Robin on board.) Altogether, I really enjoy this arc. Enel may be a shallow villain motives wise, but he’s still interesting, and imagine if Luffy’s fruit wasn’t his natural enemy… we faced an enemy like him way too soon & honestly shouldn’t have stood a chance. Got lucky that Luffy is rubber.

Dani

also they mentioned noland being allowed to go to the grand line through marie geoise which implies some things about their influence over the sea that isn’t only related to skypeia. Also it’s one of the best early arcs that show luffy saving an entire country which shapes the crews characters well

Sarc

Being completely fair One Pace heavily cuts down on the "filler" moments in the Skypeia arc, which makes the arc a bit of a drag for most people. One Pace's episode count for Skypeia is a lot less than the normal animes count of 43 episodes. I still loved the arc with the normal anime's pacing, but it can kill a lot of people's interest in this arc.

EddyTheMoza

Rewatching this with you guys and I truly can’t believe how amazing Noland was. The story telling and characterization in just a few episodes is one of many reasons why I love One Piece, one of the only shows where I look forward to backstories and learning more about the world’s history.

Nostalgino MO

thank you nolad for saving the savage natives and introducing them to villagers just dont bring colonizers to your friend's precious village , its kinda of annoying they never animated the coverstories that explain why shandians have wings , you guys should read them after this arc its great , enel the unstoppable force vs wyepr the immovable object.

Lunr

I love Wyper's character. His strength came from his people. He and his ancestors had been spilling blood for over 400 years to fulfil a promise, only to discover that someone else had been carrying the other side of that promise along with them. The flashback tells us that the ringing of the bell guides their deceased back home. Every Shandian who died trying to reach the bell was a lost soul until it could be rung. Even Noland and Kalgara, according to Shandoran belief, could only be reunited after 400 years once the bell was finally rung. He finally decides to entrust an outsider to ring the bell, because Luffy is also trying to fulfil that same promise.

Jay

Skypiea is indeed fantastic. It's one of those arcs that makes One Pace the correct choice for watching the story with.

Atlas Creation

Ohhh I didn’t know the titles were different. That really puts me at ease

Kret

I find it funny when people say this arc is isolated but its so fitting for the situation and they have a fair amount of hints about things much later on in the series that you don't realise until you watch the arc again with the knowledge from later on

mogeki

While I can see why some people dislike Skypiea because of how isolated it is, it still is one of the better arcs in One Piece. Not only is it genuinely good narratively, but it is also where Oda starts really getting into world-building. Some of the stuff mentioned here carries deep into the series, so much so that there are people who see Skypiea as something of an allegory for the main conflict in One Piece, though it can't really be seen until you reach a certain point in the story.

Hængeklumpen

people just dislike the pacing in the og

Hængeklumpen

is it just me or is the G8 cut on onepace not include g8? it seems to be the excat same as the normal skypia one pace?

yusuke

what a beautiful ending. skypeia is still one of my favourite stories ever.

Edward Molina

Just as someone else said I checked the One Pace titles for some of the most controversial spoilers in the anime and for One Pace they use different titles so as long as you don't think too much behind the meaning of a title you should be totally fine looking at them here. BUT if for some reason at some point you ever decide to get into normal One Piece don't EVER read the titles. Not all of them are spoilers but some are just ridiculous.

Billbob

Oh neat, interested in seeing what One Pace did for a G8 cut. Will be a nice cooldown before some dumb foxy shenanigans to lead into some extreme hype

Nao

For me, Nolad's parallel is more Roger than Shanks, but more than parallels, they're like opposites In Roger's case, during his execution he shouts that he found the One Piece, a treasure only he saw and whose existence no one can confirm, and the world believed him, proclaiming him King of the Pirates, and he became a legend of fame, power, and wealth; while on Noland's side, during his execution he swears he is telling the truth, which is true, but the world doesn't believe him, and it becomes a story to scare children into not lying. Roger dies with a smile on his face and one could say from what he looks like he is satisfied, while Noland dies crying and with remorse

Nao

I also think it's great that you're planning to watch the G-8 arc it's quite memorable and funny, and rather short, its only 11 episodes, but in One Pace, where it says G-8, it's just the last chapter of Skypia edited to transition to the G-8 arc, It's from chapters 196-206 of the regular anime. You'd have to watch it on another platform since One Pace doesn't have this arc because it's not canon The canon arc that follows is also quite short in One Pace, so I know many people are eager to get to a certain arc, but it doesn't hurt to relax a little before returning to the drama

Kof_Art

Great reaction.

NoSoupRice

This gay couple is real bad at communication

Htatki

G8 is 11 episode?? Damn so +3 weeks to the count to W7

Gopal

Onepace removed the spoiler titles so there's nothing to worry about.

RCG

Someone else already said it but the alternate G-8 cut in One Pace is just the last episode extended a bit to introduce the arc, not the arc itself. IF you actually want to watch it, you'll have to switch to the original series for Episodes 196–206 (11 episodes in total). After that, you can go back to One Pace. With Skypiea ending next week, you could also watch the opening.

Honeybadger

Luffy really does turn into a looney tunes character sometimes, you are right 😂😂

Gelondil

While some people find Skypiea to be a less than stellar arc, it's also really important to remember that this is also a comparison to the arcs you haven't seen yet. Bigger adventures, bigger stakes, more exciting characters... If you think Skypiea is great, just you wait! Also, Poneglyph. 😜

Nao

Yes, if they decide to watch G-8, in 5 weeks we'd barely be entering W7, which I'm also excited about since it's one of my favorite arcs, as I imagine it is for most people From what they said, they think G-8 is in One Pace, so we'll see next week if they end up seeing the arc or if they just stay in One Pace

Detour

will they be doing SBS ? that would be fun if they have time

Gelondil

Thanks for taking the time to do that research. I was wondering about it myself.

Hængeklumpen

just did a double take, and you have to start G-8 in the original after skypia one pace. so don't jump into long ring island. so the episodes are 196 to 206 in the original one piece

Anima

Sun god...

Saku

1:05:35 I'm not even on Windows anymore and I still instinctively check every time lmao

Alvaro Vesga

1:16:02 I cannot believe this level of foreshadow from Wes lmao
