W One Piece Crazy reveals this time around for CP9! Betrayal is a scary thing because it only exists where there was previously trust…

Michael H

Sooo good. That reveal is devastating. Poor Wes was going through it 😂 Side note: Steph’s hair was looking incredible this vid. She has a really good cut.

Nostalgino MO

you guys dont know what a blessing one pace is haha , also really aokigi is the sealing? come one how about shanks and mihawk , as for any hints at the betrayal of lucci the only thing i can think of is how calm cp9 are compared to say paulie and the others who are passionate , also robin was avoiding saying the crew name all of skypea,

Nostalgino MO

you cant really buy a house in 15 min or anything like that , there is lot of logistics to deal with and it takes like days , so other than buying crypto or something like that there is no way to spend it i dont think, as for me im spending it on anime and cartoon collections for sure

wl

Water 7, still the high point for One Piece.

Tsatsa

Lmao the way wes felt betrayed by kalifa not wearing glasses the same way he felt betrayed by the reveal of them being cp9 😭

Camden

I love Wes and his different pronunciation of poneglyph everytime he says it 😭

Camden

you are just saying this because you have hindsight, they haven't seen shanks do anything

Hængeklumpen

Remember Alabasta poneglyph was the location of the Weapon, the blueprints is how to make it (again).

Michael H

One of many. Definitely not my top arc, but it’s in my top 3 or 4 for sure.

Billbob

Lol the reveal was worth last week's cliffhanger. Those are some seriously deep sleeper agents but I feel like it was so much setup done for something that really couldve just been done with enough extreme force. I dont think this was foreshadowed in the slightest though, think everything in this arc has been an intentional twist

Kret

The one time wes doesn't think everyone is Sus and they are lol

RCG

The shipwrights turning out to be CP9 is one of the craziest plot twists in the show. To be fair, though, I don't think there were any hints leading up to it but the betrayal still felt real. I really liked Kaku and I even thought there was a small chance he'd become the crew's shipwright. The introduction of the Six Powers is actually pretty cool and they'll also be important later on in the story. All of the CP9 members are trained in them, which already makes them superhuman but on top of that, each of them obviously has their own fighting style or maybe even Devil Fruit powers, as we have seen with Lucci, for example. Little fun fact: If you remember Captain Kuro from when we first met Usopp, Oda said that he was using a unfinished version of Shave. It gave him the speed but he also ended up hitting his own crew, or rather everyone in his path, since he was not able to properly control it. Iceburg wants to destroy the plans. He said so himself but he has not done it yet because of the possibility that someone else, specifically Robin (since she can read the Poneglyphs), could bring back the Ancient Weapon. He probably believes that the only possible countermeasure would be to build the weapon himself if it ever became absolutely necessary.

Michael H

A lot of info was flying during that exchange between Iceberg and Robin, so it is easy to miss, but Iceberg did explain why they haven’t just destroyed the blueprints. Iceberg mentioned that the blueprints to Pluton were kept safe and handed down as a countermeasure in case the original Pluton was ever discovered again through deciphering the poneglyphs. Since Robin is the only one left who can decipher poneglyphs, as long as she is alive, there is the possibility of the original resurfacing. Remember, that was Crocodile’s whole goal with Robin: have her read the poneglyph to figure out where Pluton is.

Shanks and Mihawk haven’t shown anything that impressive so far, especially Shanks. Spoiler: Even with the current information, Shanks and Mihawk haven’t shown anything that Aokiji couldn’t replicate in the grand scheme of power scaling.

Mr. Bibinho

I'm not sure if y'all caught that, but Iceburg explained that the weapon already exists somewhere in the world. Also, if you remember, that's the same weapon Crocodile was searching for in Alabasta to build his all-powerful kingdom. The Poneglyph in Alabasta was supposed to reveal the weapon's location, and it actually did, but Robin lied and never told Crocodile where it was. That means Robin knows where the original weapon is. The existence of the original weapon is exactly why the blueprints are so important. If that weapon ever falls into the wrong hands, there would need to be an equally powerful countermeasure. That's why the blueprints are passed down: to ensure a new ship can be built if it's ever needed. That's also why they can't simply burn the blueprints. As long as Robin is alive, there's always the risk of the weapon being found, because she can read the stones.

RCG

And how Steph smirks at him everytime she's correcting him. :D

RCG

I mean, Mihawk was already pretty impressive against Zoro and Krieg, if you ask me. But I agree, we haven't really seen anything from Shanks so far.

RCG

I'm pretty sure you could watch the opening now if you want.

The Anime Dude

If it was foreshadowed for a crew that just got there then CP9 wouldn’t be pros, so still hits as far as unexpected twists go… the feeling of betrayal was real. 😭

Nao

Wes, you're right not to always believe what the characters say, since sometimes they spread rumors that turn out to be false, but sometimes they tell the truth If you want to know if something is 100% true, just believe the character involved in what's being said, like for example Iceburg or Franky right now with the blueprints, and everything the narrator says

Nostalgino MO

They have seen mihawk and shanks is been compared to mihawk

S0ulSp4de

Freddy, Koko, Akaji and the Polyglyphs XD

Adrian

The cool thing about one piece is no matter how insane and shocked you'll be at stuff that happens in an arc it's almost a guarantee you'll go through this again in the next arc.

This is just a gut feeling I have as a first-time watcher of One Piece...but I think the author sometimes doesn't exactly know himself what he's gonna do all the way through the plot. I know that may be like, de-mystifying the coolness of the story, but it just seems that way to me. For example, what purpose did Franky's mask getup have other than as a cool narrative element for shock factor? He wore it everywhere until he got mad and now he waltzes around the city without it on, no big deal. Same thing with CP-9. To me, it doesn't look like there was any indication in the story that any of the shipwrights (except MAYBE Khalifa) were going to betray Iceburg. Again, maybe that's just a me thing, but it personally looks like to me Oda had a solid baseline story he had planned out, and then after that kinda flew by the seat of his pants. Obviously that's way less cool of an interpretation, but, y'know, it's still a good story.

the name thing is astounding to watch. i genuinely cant comprehend how both of you but especially wes are able to consistently miss the mark by such wide margins. i find it so funny every time. i was wondering if wes does this irl with real people he knows? would make it even funnier to me if he is just cursed to never remember a name.
