I love Dr Stone so much. Haven't seen the last season yet and am planning to watch it with you. Fyi this opening is the 2nd opening, the first season is a double cour. A cour releases once per quarter, meaning 12 episodes a quarter, or 1 season for anime that run for 12 episodes. A double cour runs for twice that, so 24 episodes, released over half a year. To go along with that, most anime switch up their openings every 12 episodes. So Dr. Stone had 2 openings for its first season. Some anime stick to one opening throughout, but it's rare. Steins Gate is one of those

if i remember correctly, what dvds do is just store a ton of information in 1s and 0s, and it gets read by the computer or tv. They basically store a bunch of bits that contain all the video and audio information/instructions/metadata.

I don't know if anyone's commented this yet, but you guys can skip the special episode "Eve of the battle" after this as it's just a recap of the season

Chris

"Hey Tsukasa, your fridge is running" is so funny and they don't know why

Michael Johnson

This episode reminded me why I love this show. It's so positive about the greatness of humanity, of its marvels.

10:17 Since this is a science question let me answer. So you may have heard the term "Burning CD/DVD" via laser. Its literally burning. Basically, a RAW CD has lots of tiny very small "bumps". The laser burns some of the bumps and they become Pits. So, a Bump is interpreted by reader as a 0, and a pit as a 1 (or is it the other way around, doesn't matter). Now, the pits and bumps on a CD are done by the burner in a MEANINGFUL pattern. Its through that pattern that data is interpreted. I can go into further detail if you guys want, but basically, Tldr: a burner burns bumps off a CD, and a reader checks where there is a burn and where there is no burn to interpret data.

Hyped for stone wars and to finally see more of Taiju and Yuzuriha 🥹 The openings are pretty good at just showing glimpses of important stuff so you don't pick up on too much and are usually just left with more questions, but the main things i feel get spoiled for me are the inventions like kinro's glasses and the waterwheel, and a big one in the next opening💀 The songs themselves are some of the best though all straight to the playlist

ShadowMark

You should watch the first OP, this was the second one lol

Tom

That intro was only for 13-24 this was the second intro

Krimsonwulf

I forget did you guys watch the first OP or just the 2nd one. This OP is after all the characters are introduced, ep 13 I think the "midseason".

Gelondil

He better go catch it!

More to the point of Steph's question - Records are analog recordings of sound waves, but CDs and DVDs are digital. DVDs record pictures via bits and bytes in the same manner as a hard drive, and are read by laser photo-optics as described above.

domi

Theres technically 4 seasons + 1 OVA (after S2) but each season has a different number of episodes lol. There are 95 episodes total

domi

Also, tbf to the op, it is the second one, we already knew which characters were going to be important so no spoilers there. The inventions on the other hand....

domi

I sure hope its running, bc if it isnt we would have a problem😬

One of the things I really enjoy about these reactions is your relationship. The level of aliveness is unmatched. I asked myself randomly while watching how you guys would be romantically cause we never get to see this dynamic on camera and I bet it's pretty lively cause I noticed how freely Wes speaks his mind in your reactions and how you look at him and it feels similar to a loved child that feels so comfortable that it has nothing to worry about and can allow itself to be free and playful. There is no other reactor couple I've seen that is this comfortable and has this level of aliveness, comfort and playful banter. I get to laugh with you guys and feel more excitement and love than I do when I'm alone.

W season, W reaction. Personally, I couldn’t really predict the show when I watched it. But you guys have done a good job at getting some of the stuff right (like the cotton candy and gold wires). To me, Senku’s science stuff always seems super far-fetched but the way it's incorporated in the show ends up making sense and makes for cool science. As others have pointed out, you guys should definitely watch the first intro. It’s iconic in its own way and is often what the show is associated with in terms of intros.

There is a little bit of new content, but it's mostly recap.

Same, as soon as I saw that they were going to watch Dr. Stone, I thought I might as well hold off on the new/last season and watch it with them, lol. And they watched the first opening too, btw. They probably mixed it up, since by that time we were already in the village and had seen almost all the characters.

RCG

Haha, didn't even think about it in the moment but you're right.

Hello! Friendly community Biology major with an emphasis in Zoology here! I have also been to Japan multiple times. Animals in Japan (to worry about): Wes was right with foxes but the only main predators that people need to worry about in Japan are the 2 bear species found there. They have a large brown bear that is only found on their northern island of Hokkaido (Sapporo, Hakodate, Asahikawa etc.) and they also have a smaller asiatic black bear which you can find in the forests of the mountains of Japan in 2 main areas, Honshu (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima Kobe, Nara, Nagano etc.) and Shikoku (Matsuyama, Takamatsu, Tokushima, Kochi etc.) . Japan also has a few venomous snake species and wild boars which can be dangerous
