Its finally here im so excited

Isaiah Williams

They weren't saying Ohara was the name of the ancient kingdom

Gopal

They didn't say Ohara was the name of the ancient kingdom. It said the name is _____ and then another character said ohara knows too much. So we don't know the name.

Mr. Bibinho

When Robin tells everyone that she wants to live, the scene cuts to shots of each member of the crew. However, Zoro’s shot is different from the others. Before the camera cuts to his face, Zoro slightly draws his sword before sheathing it again. This is actually an old Samurai practice known as “kincho,” in which drawing and sheathing the sword causes the metals to strike each other. This was used to signify a vow that had been made and could not be broken. Essentially, the scene can be interpreted as Zoro making an oath to answer Robin’s wish and help save her. All of this was already pretty clear from the scene, but I thought I’d share this little detail.

Tsatsa

Someone asked oda how zoro talks with the sword in his mouth, and oda said he “speaks from the heart” lmao

Adams

Yeh clover never revealed the name, it was the elders that said "Ohara... knew too much"

Kasturi

I'm writing this down as i'm watching so that i don't forget what i want to say- Preofessor Clover knew that they were all gonna die after govt found poneglyph in their possession. so that's why i think he started to lay down all his theory, kinda wanted to gauge the elders reactions? Like, "we're gonna die, might as well take this chance to confirm my theory." He was a true seeker of knowledge. Saul TT my heart TT he was her only friend TT Robin's cry always breaks my heart. She suffered so muchh

Meteor

1:02:50 "This is what the square sisters look like" As the episode blocks the picture. lmao

The Anime Dude

Thanks for reacting to what I consider Peak One Piece, can’t believe we’re here already! One correction where I think y’all maybe misread - they didn’t say the name of the ancient kingdom. We weren’t told what it was. It built up where he was going to say it - and then with the assumption that he knows it, it transitioned into a sentence where they said “Ohara… (long pause) knows too much.” Could be the name of the kingdom & they just named the library/island after it for all I know, but I don’t think so. Just figured I’d comment this since I think pausing in the middle of what was already a bit of a weird cut / sentence threw y’all off a bit! Regarding Arcs…. People usually separate them by island kinda like you’re seeing on One Pace, but… they usually refer to the ones that are intimately connected like this or Alabasta as a “saga” I believe. So as an example: the Alabasta Saga would also include Little Garden, The Drum Kingdom, & Whiskey Peak. Or at least that’s kinda how I break it out & think about it in my head.

Dreamknight942

The Oharans weren’t the ancient kingdom, nor do they want to bring back the ancient weapon. The subtitles you guys are using are causing a bit of confusion I think. Peak episodes tho.

Hayate

Yes, people always associate Water 7 and Enies Lobby together when they say it's their favorite arc chapapa~

Sarc

As a few others said the name was unsaid the Ohara bit was the elder going "Ohara (dramatic pause).... knows too much". Also there's only 3 admirals. There's one Fleet Admiral over the three Admirals, who are over the various many Vice Admirals.

pspspsps

The "I want to live" moment gets me teary eyed all the time 😢

Indigo

When people talk about Water 7 it’s generally considered both water 7 and Enies Lobby together

Kof_Art

Finally. Dinner.

Rene J

"Chopper doesn't get that big" 👀

ShadowMark

An "arc" generally refers to islands the Straw Hats go to, as you inferred, with some exceptions (like Romance Dawn). For a collection of arcs that complete a consistent story, we refer to those as a "saga." For example all of the first arcs from Romance Dawn to Loguetown are referred to as the East Blue Saga, the arcs from Reverse Mountain to Alabasta are referred to as the Alabasta Saga, Jaya and Skypiea is the Sky Island Saga, and you're currently in the Water 7 Saga.

Adrian

Water 7 is a Arc and Enies lobby is an Arc together with Long Ring Long Land and the next arc they'll form the Water 7 Saga. Arcs are almost exclusively named after the Island/Place they take place and Sagas are usually named after their flagship arc.

Firstly, let me say, Absolutely GREAT reactions, can't wait for them each week. But, for clarity's sake ( and cause moving forward you'll encounter many, many more Devil Fruits ) here's a simple breakdown / reminder: Logia class Devil Fruits ( natural system ): Allow the user to turn into, manipulate AND generate an infinite amount of a natural occuring substance / element ( ice, sand fire, lightning etc ) Zoan class Devil Fruits ( animal system ): Allow the user to turn into an animal, and the user has access to 3 forms, their original form, a full animal form and a hybrid form that combines characteristics of the human and animal forms and is usually bipedal ( Chopper for example, has a natural raindeer form he was born with, his "animal form / full df given form" that is the buff one since his animal is a human, and his hybrid form is the tiny, usually seen Chopper ). Also, side note, and my reason for making this post, most Zoan DFs have a naming scheme as follows: Something Something Fruit ( that indicates the animal family of the fruit ) Model X ( where X is the specific animal the user of that fruit turns into ) and that's why we've seen till now multiple Dog Dog fruits, each a different model, with a different user ( Jackal with Chaka in Alabasta, Daschund with LAsoo,Mr 4's bazooka, and now Jabra with Wolf ), so what Wes said is what happens indeed. So, Lucci for example, has the Cat Cat fruit ( indicating that it is a feline animal ) Model Leopard, the animal the fruit lets him turn into, and so, letting us know that his 3 forms are : Full human ( as he was born with ), Full leopard ( which as of this video we still haven't seen, and maybe never will or maybe we will, who knows ), and his Hybrid ( or in some translations the Human-Beast form, either is correct ) which we first saw back at the Galley-La mansion. And an unofficial sub-category / differentiation of zoans is Herbivores, Carnivores, Omnivores etc, depending on what the animal eats ( if you remeber, Chopper said back at the mansion that Carnivorus Zoans are more aggressive ) and as stated by Lucci, Zoans are the best ( well, most of the time ) when t comes to Hand to Hand combat, cause the more the user trains / excersises and the stronger they become plus, the Hybrid form combining the strengths of animal and human elevates the users physical abilities a lot. Paramythia ( or Paramecia in some translations ) class Devil Fruits ( supernatural system ): Any Devil Fruit that does not fit in the previous categories, and has the MOST versatile range of abilities in this class ( look how vastly different Luffy, Buggy, Mr. 3, Mr. 2 etc are in what their powers do ) ps , what I have written in a parenthesis next to each class, is the rough translation of the Kanji used for each DF category respectively, which kinda also indicates what kind of abilities each class offers Sorry for the long post, but I love DF breakdowns and how they work. Hope it helps going forward

It's a shame that one pace has such low quality subtitles ..

Michael H

Even with Romance Dawn, most people will break it up into the individual islands (Arlong Park, Orange Town, etc.) when they are talking about arcs.

Kof_Art

Imagine... if we had TWO posts per week for one piece >:).

Kof_Art

Most of the people like Skypiea but people who hate it is because they watched it normally. Its a SLOGGGG with toei pacing. One Pace makes it so so good. Still kinda bummed they cut out Luffy's song.

Sarc

Also on the zoan fruits (animal transformation), each one has multiple versions. Example: Dog-dog fruit. It has multiple models you have seen. In Alabasta you saw Model: Jackal with Chaka, and Model: Daschund with Mr 4's gun, and now Model: Wolf with Jabra. They can only turn into the one animal the Model is.

Wilson Clark

I've been caught up with the manga for 5 years, and I thought I knew almost everything in the story by memory, but I completely forgot Baskerville was 3 different people. Lmao One Piece is just so good no matter the arc even upon my 3rd watch

Michael H

One Pace dropped the ball hard with these subtitles. Small changes that create large impacts. In OG, the elder says, “Ohara has…learned too much.” In One Pace, “Ohara…has learned too much.” Very understandably creates the impression that Ohara is the name of the kingdom rather than just the start of another sentence, considering there’s a huge pause during the ellipses. In OG, elder says, “Signal the attack.” In One Pace, “No one can leave alive.” Immediately spoiling the evacuation ship getting targeted. EDIT: My brain is cooked—the OG says something very similar (like “no one can escape”) right after that! Really poor memory/research skills on my part there 🤦 🤦

Wilson Clark

FYI chopper is an oddity among Zoan fruits, and all others can only transform into one thing. Like one of the Alabasta guard has the Dog Dog fruit Model: Jackal, and Jabra has the Dog Dog fruit Model: Wolf.

Michael H

Luffy would accidentally fire Pluton and end up wiping out Drum Island or something. As good a guy as he is, I don’t think I’d trust him with ancient technology.

Atlas Creation

wes, we just met the elephant fruit lol

NoSoupRice

they took way too long with finishing that sentence that wes and steph got thrown in for a loop lmao

Gelondil

I'm going to have to disagree strongly with you here. I don't think One Pace dropped anything, and it 1000% didn't spoil anything. Your first example is highly subjective. In the manga/anime, the Elder opens with a singular word: "Ohara". Personally, I find it really jarring to hear a phrase like "Ohara..." but see "Ohara has..." pop up on the screen. You don't need to understand Japanese to know that translation is 'off'. Unfortunately, there really is no perfect solution. Literally translated, there is no 'has' in this sentence, so the word doesn't fit well on either side of the ellipses. And 'Ohara...learned too much." isn't a proper translation either. The greater reason Wes misunderstood has more to do with Clover and the Elder having similar sounding VAs, and Wes jumping the gun and talking over the back half the sentence without waiting for it to finish. There were absolutely ellipses there telling us the sentence wasn't finished, but he didn't wait. As to your second example, you actually misquoted both the anime and One Pace. In all 3 versions (manga, anime, Pace) the Elder says both phrases ("start the attack" and "everyone dies"). The exact translation varies, but the meaning is unambiguous no matter how you look at it. So it's not a spoiler at all. That's how Oda wrote it.

Gelondil

Luffy ordering Sogeking to shoot the flag is easily one of my top 5 moments in One Piece. I only have one tiny complaint.... Yes, the Strawhats have pretty much already declared war on the Marines by invading Enies Lobby, but shooting the flag is the symbolic "first shot" against the World Government. That Usopp was the one that fired it is *chef's kiss*, given his cowardice, and what went down in W7. My complaint is that Luffy doesn't know Usopp did it. As far as he knows, Usopp is still miles away patching up the Merry, and not there trying to rescue Robin. Does it matter in the end? No. Luffy doesn't keep score and Usopp is still clearly his friend. But I wish he knew Usopp had his back in this very moment as well.

Gelondil

Maybe he wouldn't blow up an /entire/ civilized island.... Just the back half of it! 😁 But a Marine stronghold or a pirate island like Enies Lobby or Wiskey Peak? OOOPSIE!

Michael H

@Gelondil Definitely disagree with you on point one for the simple reason that the misunderstanding Wes had would not have taken place with the OG subtitles. But completely agree with you on point two because you are 100% correct. Have no idea where my mind was at. I think savvy Wes just caught on to the evacuation ship being a trap so quickly, and he reaffirmed his suspicions with that line, which I had never seen other reactors do before and ended up comparing two completely separate lines of dialogue 🤦. I’m stuck in bed with a fever, so I’m gonna generously give my cooked brain a pass on that, but thanks for pointing it out, and I’ll add an edit 👍

carocatowr

I remember watching Usopp *ejem* Sogeking shoot down the world governments flag for the first time and even back then it was such an amazing moment I still remember getting the chills. Up until this point it felt like the government chasing the Mugwis, but right after that it felt like for the first time they fought back like saying "Now we are a match for you, now we can do damage too". Believe me when I say there are way more epic scenes, fights and moments coming, but even after watching them all this moment remains as one of my favourites.

S0ulSp4de

Kaku is a good example. As bad or ridiculous a devil fruit might seem, it always depends on what the user makes out of it. I mean...just think of Luffy, he is actually just rubber, sounds pretty lame. Someone can have the most terrifying power, but use it at minimal capacity or the stupidest power but use it really well. Actually some of the "bad" fruits are some of my favorites because they are somehow entertaining. XD

Yash Binu

It's so funny wes keeps saying vice admirable for admiral

Raztarl

1:05:14 for a second I didn't hear "hockey" player body because of the accent

Lobstar

You can 100 percent lump them as one large Arc. It'd what I do, and most One Piece fans wouldn't disagree.

Mika

This part is specifically called Enies lobby arc but yes its still the same saga that started from water 7

Saku

I think he thought it was an elephant that ate the sword sword fruit, but to be fair we did already have that too haha

Xan

I'm glad they brought democracy to Ohara. They were using civilians as shields in the evacuation ship. it couldnt be helped.

spede

Romance Dawn is just the first arc by default (so all th things from Luffy's backstory to the Straw Hats leaving Shells Town) so it does not include Orange Town-Arlong Park.
