Btw, Yo was also one of the very few police officers in that department there were ACTUALLY doing their job and not taking bribes at all, in fact, one of the reasons he was fired was PRECISELY because he tried to arrest that corrupt politician in the first place. That's why also the face of one of one of the guys had such an angry expression in the interrogation room with him, because it ruined their corrupt schemes.

Not in general was I asking, but the police specifically. I figured specialized police forces have guns, but not all police forces My reference is, in Death Note, Light Yagami and Soichiro Yagami both refusing a gun from L because “they aren’t allowed in Japan”
