I love the idea of doing That Thing You Do! It has a neat connection with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, as the plot hinges on a hit song of the same name, which was supplied (in perfect period style) by Adam Schlesinger.

I’ve never heard of any of these 💀

The Inedible Mattman!

Sooooooo glad to see That Thing you Do winning. That show is slept on all the time and it’s amazing!

That Thing You Do is a classic and well worth the react if you've never seen it. I'm still rooting for Spy Games and Three Kings though!

Chris

Millers Crossing is such an excellent movie. Looks like it won’t win, but hope you’ll see it at some point. Feels like the forgotten Coen Bros movie.

Mithroch

I can't not vote for Coen Bros. Miller's Crossing is probably Gabriel Byrne's best work.

Roland Cooke

Miller's Crossing is so good.

Jesus

Three Kings is once again superior. Classic box office underperformer that stands out over time as its more successful contemporaries become just another product of their age’s popular aesthetics. He said pretentiously.

Cosmic Slice

I remember seeing Miller's Crossing when it came out, such an amazing movie! It likely won't win the poll ...but it should!

Laura Room

I love That Thing You Do!

1996 was an absolute golden year for movies about the American music scene in the 1960s. That Thing You Do is terrific, and a breezy trip through one side of things. If you're a fan of this movie, may I suggest you seek out "Grace of My Heart", which creates a fictional 1960s world with Ileana Douglas as Carole King, John Turturro as Phil Spector, Matt Dillon as Brian Wilson, Eric Stolz at Gerry Goffin, etc. etc. It is an inspired, unjustly forgotten movie from the '90s that deserves more love than it gets.

So excited for That Thing You Do!
