Hey guys! We will be watching a Sci-Fi movie this coming Friday. It's a small list, but I obviously had to go with films new to us (sorry, Starship Trooper fans, but we have both been to that party). As always, please vote for as many as you like and let us know some recommendations in the comments for future films. Joe and I will be watching New Girl tomorrow and adding it with Monday's regular schedule. Thank you all for being here!

I love Super 8!

Weird Magic

When in doubt, JJ Abrams!

This one's tough for me. Super 8 is the only one I've seen. I do like Sci-fi though!

MrRuss50

I still vote starship troopers

I have not seen (or heard of) Synchronic or Moon, but all the rest of those are absolute masterpieces and landmarks and I'd be mad at any person who elects to not watch any one of them. I put my vote for Sunshine, though that movie in particular is difficult and may not be easy to enjoy at a first watch going into it blind. In fact, I feel the need to offer at least this advice for anyone who's going to watch it: It "looks" like a sci-fi adventure that weirdly turns into a slasher movie in the third act, but you have to keep in mind that is not really what it's about.

Moon is probably my favorite out of these, but I haven't seen Sunshine or Synchronic. As for recommendations, I feel like all my favorite Sci-Fi movies are obvious ones that you have probably seen like Blade Runner (the original and it's sequel) or Aliens. I guess Snowpiercer would count as Sci-Fi but it's more of a thriller/action movie. I think I mostly get my sci-fi fix in other mediums like anime (Psycho Pass, Vivy, Bokurano, Gundam ) or video games (13 Sentinels, Control, Xenoblade)

Moon might be Sam Rockwell’s coolest movie not including the dance scene from Iron Man 2

Moon is the standout on this list, watch it. I also voted for Sunshine, which is "how that kind of film ought to be done, and so very rarely is".

I don't remember _enjoying_ it (my wife loves it), but it's definitely interesting, agree with you there, worthy to be on this list.

Europa Report (2013) is also a good sci-fi option for the future.
