I agree. I think Tom Cruise should have won in 1999 (Magnolia) over Michael Caine (Cider House Rules), but Goodman turned in a stronger performance than the other 3 nominees: Haley Joel Osment (6th Sense), Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile) and Jude Law (Talented Mr. Ripley).
