The Ballad of Donkey Doug

I was mildly surprised not to hear any appreciation for Eugene Cordero, who played Pillboi -- if only because it's so different from his role on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Josh Chan's supervisor at the tech store.

I remember when this first aired and everyone was OBSESSED with learning that handshake! I know Jason is meant to be pretty broad humor, but every time we learn a little more about his background, I feel more and more sorry for him. [rot13 for spoilers] "Jung vs V frag ure qbja gur jebat cngu naq fur raqf hc va gur Onq Cynpr?" Jryy, jr xabj vg'f abg Puvqv'f snhyg, ohg gung'f fbzr N-cyhf sberfunqbjvat. He's also great (in a voice role) in Star Trek: Lower Decks, which IMO is by far the best Trek since the 90s.

I know, we really should have shouted him out. I totally forgot that he was Josh's boss. In many ways he is underrated as an actor. He clearly has range and we've seen that. Donkey Doug really stole the show in this one

"On that much, we can agree on" Oh, Jason

I love the small detail of Eleanor screwing up her face at the jazz music. I remember in S1 she says he vehemently hates jazz

I noticed that too! Well, only the second part which is a bit more obvious. Both are pretty smart though

Maybe the weakest episode of the season to me. But it's getting good!

I just watched an episode of The Office where he was in too, very minor role but as soon as he was on screen I recognized Pillboi

I don't really agree, this was a memorable one. Maybe not as much so as Jeremy Bearimy or an upcoming one this season which I won't name, but Donkey Doug being Jason's dad is one of my favorite jokes of the entire show.

Just in passing, if you were impressed with characters (actors) impersonating other characters in this episode, there's an absolute masterclass of that stuff in a later episode. 🙂

Oh man that Elon Musk line aged amazingly well!
