If you haven’t seen The Commitments, you must. The soundtrack is great too. I’m not sure where it is streaming. But that lady singing at the party was in the movie.

“You should write that down.” “Maybe I will, someday.” And Lisa McGee did. That, and “we have to be brave” are the lines that make me cry. I can’t hear that song without getting emotional, either. What a montage. What an ending. What a show.

Whenever people talk about shows that truly nailed their finales, I always bring this up. The montage at the end is about as perfect as you can get. Glad you enjoyed it! It’s been fun watching it again along with you!

Jeff

"I love 'Hamlet'." "I'm more a 'MacBeth' guy." Another reason why I love you guys! This is yet another brilliant finale that had me in tears. And whenever I feel myself starting to well up, I just look at the expressions on your faces and the floodgates open up. I'm right there with you every time.

Maria McNamee

Yes she's Bronagh Gallagher. She had a part in Pulp Fiction, amongst others, too. Great talent.

You should look up Derry Girls Master class from the Edinburgh TV Festival on YouTube. It's an hour long stage interview with Lisa and the cast and it captures their experiences, the making of the show and 'behind the scenes' insights. They also do a scene read through. Really highlights every one of their talents.

SO many powerful emotions in that final montage. Just wonderful, heart-filling storytelling. And I may disagree with Joe about preferring MacBeth to Hamlet, but no denying the benefit of MacBeth being much shorter. :)

Thanks for being here with us! Yes, the last 10 minutes of this episode really encapsulates the build-up of the entire series since the pilot. Just brilliant.

I’m a little confused by Niall. Is he Michelle’s uncle?

Joy M

That’s what I don’t get. Don’t they also say he has a teenaged son? Michelle is 18 and her mother just had her 20th high school reunion, so how could she have a brother old enough to have a teenaged son?

Sarah P

She says that they found out the guy Niall killed had a teenage son — not Niall himself. Michelle is saying that that adds to the guilt — the guy her brother killed was a father.

Orla did the most Orla thing imaginable: took the third option and spoiled her vote! This has been such a ride (not the Michelle kind of ride...), it's been amazing to revisit this series, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity.

Jamie Morgan

Also, how they got Chelsea Clinton was basically just to contact everyone they knew until they found someone who had an in with the Clintons! They just asked her and she said yes. Liam Neeson, however, was a fan of the show before he first appeared.

Youtalkingtome

That's amazing. Liam crushed this. So glad that Chelsea could be apart of this. Such a special episode and an incredible finale

I just put the dvd in hold at my local library because I couldn’t find it streaming anywhere.

The opening music is an EDM remix of "Life In A Northern Town". 🙂

Two passports...my wife and I are both eligible for Irish passports (to add to our British ones), ironic that it's Brexit that has convinced us to do that....

You should definitely add The Commitments to your movie watch list, fantastic watch, such a fun film.

Roland Cooke

I've skied Val D'Isere, can confirm. 🤩

Roland Cooke

Wonderful show, thanks for "dragging' me out to watch it. 😍

Youtalkingtome

Of course. Every episode was an absolute delight. We would have never watched it if it wasn't for you wonderful people. So grateful to everyone that suggested it!
