Whoever told you to skip firefly is insane, I have literally never met anyone who did not at least enjoy it. It is absolutely a cult classic and is a hugely popular series for reactions, and so it would do very well on the right poll. I think some people are so against Whedon that they attack everything he has ever touched, even things that are legitimately good and were produced by far more people than just him.

I love this movie! Dale was played by Tyler Labine, I know him from two tv shows where he is absolutely hilarious, Deadbeat and Reaper. Reaper is such a fantastic very little known show with Ray Wise playing the devil and Tyler plays the friend of a guy who has to bounty escaped souls from hell. If you’re ever lucky enough to come across it it’s a great watch!

love this movie. tyler labine (dale) has been in a LOT of things, but i first came to love him on reaper (2007-2009 - also featuring ray wise (leland palmer in twin peaks)). after tucker & dale, he was (the lead) on another show called deadbeat (2014-2016).

Firefly isn't terrible - it's fantastic! I'm not personally chomping at the bit for your reactions to it, as I've watched SO many reactions to it already, but if you checked it out then I would probably join you for the ride.

Haven't seen Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, I've heard only good things so I should check it out. But just seeing the discussion about Firefly (I guess because Alan Tudyk is in both?) I've gotta pile on the Firefly is a perfect TV show train.

I think that's a fair point. Even his Avengers movies were scrutinized after the allegations came to light. He seems like a terrible guy but we shouldn't dismiss the films and tv shows. It's so much bigger than just him.

Finally someone who has seen Reaper!! I loved that show so much and was lucky to find it on dvd! I think it’s time for a rewatch! 😈

ray wise plays a great devil - but he also guests on a few episodes of psych as a priest. he strikes me as having a good sense of humor about a lot of things.

I will reiterate my dislike of Firefly. It's not that it's absolutely terrible, but it is way overhyped by fanboys (and fangirls) as this absolutely amazing show. So that when you watch it you find yourself let down. Maybe if I watched it at the time and before all the hoopla I'd feel different....but I doubt it. The dialogue is subpar, the stories are trite....but some of the acting is decent. Again, major snob on dialogue, but I can remember at least a couple dozen cringy-douche chill moments from the show. The West Wing, by comparison, has about 4 over 7 seasons.

Also, Tyler Labine is an absolute treasure - so him with Alan Tudyk is just delightfully funny in this horror spoof. I cry laughing every time when they guy "chucks himself into the woodchipper" and we get the brilliantly delivered, "Are you okay?" and "He's sure heavy for half a guy."

Tyler Labine is a bit of a chameleon - I’m not sure which episode, but he was in For All Mankind (or sorry, he will be a recurring character in season 5 it appears).

I've been going through your back catalogue. This was a blast to watch along with you! Both Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk did such a good job. "Hello Officer... We've had a doozy of a day!" Also, gotta go with the rest of the comments (sans JVTrickypants); Reaper and Firefly are awesome shows!
