Lorelai is very bad at hiding things. The next time it rains Rory is finding that box.

Peter

It isn't Sesame Street with the talking trash, it is Fraggle Rock! Very disappointed in Lorelai about this.

Peter

Rory wanted to buy a garden hose and Luke has three sitting on a shelf right behind her.

Peter

The real question is how Lane got permission to attend a party in Hartford (or whatever it was that Mrs. Kim agreed to)

Peter

Sookie can't even go into Luke's without going behind the counter and messing with things. So I don't know why Jackson thought cooking her a meal would go well.

The actor who plays Max Medina, Scott Cohen, also played the Big Bad Wolf in The 10th Kingdom. Whenever he is onscreen in Gilmore Girls I can't stop picturing him having a tail.

That scene of Lorelai and Rory calmly drinking coffee, framing Dean and Luke outside fighting is hilarious. Gets me every time. For some reason this episode is one of my favorite like cozy comfort watches, probably because so much of it is just Rory and Lorelai doing Stars Hollow stuff.

I was just looking up Keiko Agena, and I noticed she was 28 when this was filmed, only 6 years younger than Lauren Graham. And even today at 51 she hardly aged at all.

love this episode! Luke wrangling Dean still gets me. the closer we get to season 2, the more excited I am!!

"Then he's gay". I spat my drink out, that was brilliantly delivered. 🤣

I love this scene in the diner. "Everybody stares at me". Then Miss Patty shows up, then Luke is getting mad, then Kirk does his thing...lol ! And then Luke's fighting Dean. This is genius, it's one of my favorite moments in the entire series :)

I only saw part of this show while it was airing later in S2, then years later finally saw it from S1 all the way through. Now I've binge-rewatched several times over, but still feel slightly disjointed from a lot of S1 context & aesthetic, absorbed after the fact.

Oh good episode! Rory's denial, Lane outside of Stars Hollow, Jackson making Sookie dinner, the fight with Luke and Dean, and then Rory finally deciding to be sad about it. I love the Stars Hollow centric episodes. There's something whimsical about them. I, however, HATED the Tristan kiss. It was one of the worst parts of season 1 and how it plays out really irks me but I guess Rory needed that to happen to make her realize how sad she really was about losing Dean.

I love the Stars Hollow episodes too. The Tristan kiss rubbed me the wrong way too! I get why it exists. I'm just not there with Tristan yet
