Hello, friends!

Apparently and without warning, Max has removed The West Wing from its service. I haven't been able to locate another streamer that provides it in the US. We will update you if we find an alternative for you to use.

In the meantime, we will purchase the final 2 seasons on Amazon and continue ahead with the show on schedule.

Streaming services are very frustrating sometimes. We sincerely appreciate you being here with us as we soldier forth with this great show!

Unfortunately...the downside of digital media...

Wow... that's frustrating... I felt the same way a few years ago when Netflix dropped the show. So hopefully like then, it gets picked up again... it's too good of a show to not be available... guess in the mean time I better go dig out my DVD set so I can keep following your reactions...I love them!

Weird Magic

Makes it tough for most of us to watch with you...

Jeff

And I had just resolved not to spend any more money on "frivolous" things I enjoy (like books and tv), but our weekly West Wing group watch is one of the highlights of my schedule, so I just bought the last two seasons on Amazon. I'm with you guys through to the end!

Heather

Not cool, 2025. Not cool. ;)

Allison O

What the heck. I see some people saying it’s still available if you subscribe to max via Amazon Prime (I have no idea how these things work). I have the DVDs because I love physical media for - pretty much this reason, but I hope it becomes available for everyone!

Brina Blue

I saw that too. My guess is that Amazon just hasn't updated their site yet.

Brina Blue

It's really too bad. I just finished season 1 and was planning on doing a few binges and catching up. I love The West Wing but I'm going to wait and see if it pops up for streaming somewhere else before any purchases.

To everyone, Invest in physical media, please. They (Max/Prime/Disney/Hulu, etc) are gonna relocate & gatekeep & make you have to get a new subscription or repurchase things every chance they get. I'm begging you, buy your favorites on DVD or Bluray. The ones you revisit often. You'll thank me later.

trenton gragg

I guess that is what they meant by the first three days of 2025 being WTF on the calendar.

Peggy G

& you can get a bunch of titles on EBay for less than the cost of a one day rental on streaming services. Lots of buy 2 get 1 free deals at thrift shops.

I’ve had physical media deteriorate over the years. About 15 years ago I ripped all my DVDs and set up my own streaming setup in house and still use it. Pros and cons everywhere right?

Ryan Fisher

Apple is selling the entire series for $40.

shawn Johnson

Hey Joe @ Kevin, not sure if you guys are aware but the last two episodes your mikes pick up your breathing and other noises in the room. Sorry! Just want to make sure you knew

Ryan Fisher

Sorry it just shares the general page. I searched for West Wing and it’s under box set. I am in the US.

Roland Cooke

It's been very noticeable because our lads have had bad colds and whatnot over the past couple of weeks, but I do wonder if there's been a technological / audio set-up change that has caused these sounds to be picked up more.

This one time I might be lucky - it's still on May for me. Maybe they keep the rights for my region (Hungary) yet. Or, I will just lose it a few days later. :) Anyway, I have the DVD sets, I used to watch it a lot. And we are well past the part which was cratchy on the disc, and would not play (around the part the DEA agents in Latin America are captured, after a State of the Union). But watching from a DVD player is more complicated (have to move my laptop to a different room), but I'll do it if I have to!

Balazs Foldes

Oh, if it remains a region thing, and Europe would retain West Wing on Max, I definitely still discourage anybody from using a VPN and stream Max from a fictious, European location to access West Wing. I'm not sure that would be legal, or at least ethically correct. (Plus I'm not 100% sure it would work, I'm not much of a VPN wizard).

Joy M

I purchased it on amazon when they had a discounted special offer. Maybe we could do a donation to you guys. I know you’ve said people have purchased movies for you on the channel. How does that work?

Youtalkingtome

Sorry! We actually just replaced the mics and recording equipment, so we will tone it down to make sure it's better. Sorry!

Laura Room

I hear the series is available for purchase with Apple for $40

Laura Room

I noticed it too and thought maybe it was my earbuds. I did enjoy the cat purring though!

Bob Asher

It appears to still be on Amazon Prime using a Max Subscription. I've heard recommendations to cancel your current max sub and then resub via Amazon Prime's bundle

While I do like Physical Media, there is also Vudu (which is now Fandango At Home, I guess). It's a service where you can redeem those "digital copies" you get when you buy a blue ray, or you can by shows/movies directly from it as well. It's not a "streaming service" so your owned library isn't affected by changes in licenses or streaming libraries. It's not as good as physical, there's still a risk if the whole thing were to shut down, but that isn't too likely and it's been a great way to still OWN my favorite movies and shows and be able to watch them online without dealing with a physical player. To be clear, at least HALF my library is from buying the physical media with a "digital code" so I have BOTH, and this is (or at least used to be) pretty common with blu rays.

D Gyre

While you'd have to have someone else load things up for you because of the information and images that pop up, given how much you guys watch and just in general love TV and Movies, you might want to take a look at Vudu/FandgoAtHome. Especially if you have a lot of blue rays somewhere that have digital codes you never redeemed? I don't know what Amazon shows when you pull up an episode, so be careful, especially with the next episode. We want to avoid those spoiled appearances!

Michelle

Hate that you guys have this headache right near the end! Appreciate you keeping to the schedule for us though, this part of the run really is great.

Sly_Budlong

Literally cried this morning when I saw it was gone. I used to have all seven seasons on DVD but my aunt in NE gave them all away 😭

Bob Asher

I was able to cancel my max and then bundle with prime and could watch west wing

Danielle

Since you already bought it it's kind of a moot point, but it is still up on Max, at least for me and I'm in the US. I do have Max through my cable provider so not sure if that makes any difference.
