Oh my god! This one and Sunset Boulevard are my favorites ❤️ Can't imagine choosing between them at the Oscars that year

The good news is now you’ll never be obligated to see the silliness that is Showgirls, since the story is essentially the same as All About Eve.🙂 Only AAE has that awesome old Hollywood affect💜, and was nominated for a bazillion Oscars.

Michael Soukup

Bette Davis did not win the Oscar for this. But George Sanders did.

One of my all-time favorite films. The screenplay is often cited as one of the best ever.

Acting nominations for: Bette Davis, Anne Baxter (Eve), Celeste Holm (Karen), Thelma Ritter (Birdie), George Sanders. It was the role Sanders was born to play.

He was great. I thought he was going to be narrating the entire movie early, but I love the way this story was told.

The screenplay was terrific. So sharp and witty, and the shifting tone of the movie was executed perfectly.
