The Dragonfly! If it looks a little familiar…it’s the house that they used for The Waltons!

Peter

The Backstreet Boys was obviously the correct answer.

Luke is not rotating his food shipment which is going to result in a lot of food waste... Not only is storing the pickles in two locations bananas, but he needs to put the new food behind the older food.

I like how Rory told Emily she likes blue and there is nothing blue in the room.

Peter

I like the stuffed tiger, though...

There's no correct answer but there is a wrong answer and that's 98 Degrees

Comparing Roon to Boo Radley is pretty unfair... Roon SUCKS, Boo Radley was a damn hero. I kinda wonder if Emily's initial hesitation to walking around Star's Hollow comes from living in Hartford... yes there are wealthy parts of the city (I know the show always says they live in Hartford but I still wonder if they live in the much wealthier West Hartford rather than Hartford proper), but a lot of Hartford is very rough, and with all of Emily's prejudices I would bet she doesn't walk around outside of their neighborhood much. This series really only shows that wealthy part of Hartford, but growing up an hour north of there in MA (in a town that's a little bit like Star's Hollow) and driving through downtown Hartford for stuff like shows at the Webster theater, I saw a very different picture.

Minor inconsistencies I just caught: - Emily does have a photograph of Lorelei when she was a baby. Rory found it in a drawer and showed it to the grandparents bakc when she was stuck at their house because of the snow. - Emily said to Michel they go to Paris every spring. But in another episode, she and Richard are annoyed because they usually go to Europe in the fall and Lorelei and Rory make deperate efforts to convince them to go in the spring instead. Nontheless, great episode. The sparring match between Emily and Mrs Kim is delightful! :D

Her hesitation has to come from her level of class. A perfectly wonderful town like Star's Hollow, Emily would consider "slumming it." I like that she got to see that's not the case. I love that she enjoyed Mrs. Kim's shop and that she was meeting several people in the town. I hope that she can get there eventually and see how wonderful it really is.

Now I’m obsessed with Luke’s stocking. Also why does he have so many cans of Hormel chili? He can’t make chili? Another thing I noticed for the first time on this watch is that absolute nightmare fuel right behind Lorelai when she’s standing in the bedroom talking to Emily. What the heck is that - it looks like a child-sized Olive Oyl puppet. Aside from all that - I think part of what is so difficult for Emily is that she’s able to rationalize/portray to her circle Lorelai running away (and Emily and Richard not being able to get her back) as Lorelai did well and is fine. Being in her class and having a child run away and end up living in a shed is a whole nother thing.

Could you guys imagine Emily, Michelle, Ms. Kim and Paris in one room lol

I agree with you. Emily has a lot of soul searching to do. And really, six giant jars of Grey Poupon? There is no scenario in which Luke uses that much of it before the sell-by date.

Not to make excuses, there's definitely some lapses in the writing, especially in the early seasons, but it does come across pretty hilarious if you picture Emily and Richard (okay it's only going to be Emily) rewriting their history and deciding one day they have never and would never go to Paris in the spring and such.

The sparring between Mrs. Kim and Emily was so great! Ah that whole thing about the shed. I don't think Emily had guilt. I think Emily was extremely hurt. She was hurt that Lorelai seemingly hated her parents so much she'd rather live in a place so run down it wasn't meant to be lived in (it was the potting shed). Lorelai ran away at 16 after giving birth to Rory and not just ran away but ran away to a shed with no real rooms or barely running water and didn't tell her parents where she was for years so there was years where they had no idea what happened to her or Rory. And when she finally spoke to them again, it was cursory, they only saw and talked to her on Christmas and Easter for the years up until Chilton. And yes, as Lorelai said she was very young and very unhappy and she made decisions that affected her, her parents, Christopher, and Rory for years to come but she was 16 and we don't all make the best decisions or have the best perspective at 16. And she has trouble owning up to how her decisions affected others around her when she defends them as simply what she needed to do and her parents have trouble understanding how at 16 she, like lots of 16 year olds, felt stifled and how her upbringing versus her personality contributed to that feeling and those unresolved issues keep popping up because they keep not acknowledging each other's pain and only focusing on and trying to rationalize their own and thus never get resolved.

Maybe she was hurt but I do think that maybe it's coming from a place that has a lot of guilt. Certainly regret. Most likely that's on both of them. I know that Lorelai felt that should couldn't be there anymore and that's totally fine. We don't have the best perspective at 16, however her putting herself and Rory first has definitely paid off in my opinion
