“We don’t hurt little girls in Dorne.” “Everywhere in the world they hurt little girls.” This is one of the lines from GoT that comes back to me a lot. It’s especially hard because of what we see with Sansa in this episode — seriously, girl cannot catch a break! Everywhere she goes there are snakes, and — mark my words — one of the most f-ing incredible character arcs in this *entire show* is Sansa Stark learning that, and getting better at protecting herself. There are certain things I have issues with, but we’ll get there. The fact that Lysa and Little Finger (Lysafinger??) were 50% of how we ended up here (it was them + Jaime pushing Bran out a window) is an INSANE reveal to happen casually in episode 5. It also means — WE WERE ALL CORRECT IN OUR ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT HOW EVIL LITTLE FINGER IS.

The best episodes of the season, arguably of the entire series, are starting next week with episode six.

White Walkers (usually called Others in the books, changed for the show purely to avoid confusion with the antagonists of the same name in Lost) making more of them by converting human infants is I think the first bit of lore confirmed in the show that has still only been hinted at, never confirmed in the books. Obviously we have the wights, the dead humans they raise as zombies, but the walkers themselves having human origin in any way is not so far actually a book thing. Lysa talking about Sansa's Uncle Brandon, that's Ned's older brother who the Mad King killed along with their father, Catelyn was originally engaged to marry him before that. Bran is named after him but Brandon is a very ancient name in the Stark family.

Some of this stuff is a little premature for what the show has shown yet...

I think it's a really interesting dynamic to the show, still haven't read the books but I like this choice. It adds this extra layer of dread.

The beautiful reveal that little finger was the chess master moving that first piece to set all the following event in motion was a huge mind blow moment for me I actually had to sit with it and go through literally everything that happened previously just to see his moves on the metaphorical chess board
