Maybe my favourite of the trilogy!

I can see how this would be! I'm kind of obsessed with the second one right now. Although the first one is kind of a perfect action film

The Waterloo train station scene with the use of surveillance cameras and cell phones, really makes you think you can’t hide anywhere anymore. Then again, it took a fast food worker to catch Luigi after five days on the run.

Yes way- think Snowden- each country is/was using a partner to spy on each other- i.e. Country A has Country B spy inside Country C and in exchange Country A would spy on Country D on behalf of Country B, even though all are ALLIES. The intent was for each to spy on their OWN people by having partners do it and NOT to spy on each other!

Third movie was the most successful at the box office and wholeheartedly agree with your end take that that each was different enough o stand on its own while feeling connected. My wife and I saw the first 4 in the theaters where shaky cam really and surround sound were really effective but could see how it would be puke inducing. The 4th one kinda feels like the first 3 but not really due to the lack of Damon and it not being as cohesive- sort of like On Her Majesty's Secret Service being out of tune with the prior Connery-based Bond films...never saw the last Bourne film

You were spot on with your comments on the editing. This film won 3 Academy awards: Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing and won BAFTA awards for Best Editing and Best Sound

So I suggest you add The Bourne Legacy and Treadstone to your upcoming watchlist anyway. I recommend (separate) polls as to whether to watch: a) Jason Bourne (the fourth movie in the trilogy). More of the same, for better and worse. b) The Bourne Identity with Richard Chamberlain and Jaclyn Smith. A different take from a different generation. Fun!

I went to high school in Manhattan and after college lived not too far from where the "hospital" was supposed to be located in NYC near the end. There IS a real hospital NY Presbyterian-Weil Cornell on 70th by the East River a few blocks away, but the 400 East block of 71st Street in Manhattan is residential- a bunch of 30 story condos

So this came out a week ago and I think you'd really enjoy it; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdcSFsQRsnc I really enjoyed rewatching this trilogy with you guys! I've never seen the next two movies (the one with Jeremy Renner and the newest one). It sounds like you guys have no immediate plans to react to those, but I'm curious! I think I'll watch them soon, and will report back. 😅

I would like you to remember what you were saying at the end of The Bourne Identity... As I recall, you were doubting the need to do sequels, that it was a good one-off, etc. But you were willing to give it a shot... and then you enjoyed the difference both sequels made, the masterful writing to get them intertwined (the last scene of the 2nd movie was the kick-off to the 3rd act of the 3rd movie), and so on and so forth. No, the 4th movie (Jason Bourne, 2016) isn't as masterful, but it gives another layer to David Webb's history. It's NOT just a money grab, and is worth the watch IMHO. I hope you won't leave it to some vote to then not remember all the links you'll find in there, hence not getting the full experience. On the other hand, The Bourne Legacy (with Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz) is only using Jason Bourne's in name to justify the title, and THAT'S a movie that could be watched anytime (or not ;-) ), and doesn't bring any added value worth it.

I appreciate that stance on it. I've heard a lot of people praise legacy so it's nice to hear the 4th Damon film get some love.

By the way, if you wondered why Andor was so good....Tony Gilroy again. 😀

Youtalkingtome

He's an amazing writer! Still haven't finished Andor. Eventually I'll get around to it. I have real Star Wars fatigue right now. I think I'm just done with the franchise for a while
