idk if you're tired of hearing this, I just have the insight if you're truly wondering. Emily didn't want Lorelai to tell her to bond, she wants control. Emily can't maneuver the aesthetics if she doesn't have the proper information. I learned this in the past year with my mom. I have to remind myself when engaging with her that she is never asking genuinely to bond, it's to subtly gain any leverage. Yes, it's very off putting, but the sad reality. Emily (nor my mom) (nor I expect Rose, although I haven't watched Maisel), are not evil people, but are very self centered and presentation minded. Which is narcissistic and unpleasant, but incredibly true to life. I love Emily as a character (Kelly Bishop killed it). And I love who my mom is as a person, my mom just rarely chooses to just be that person in front of others. I really appreciate this show as one of the best in humanizing each of it's deeply flawed characters.

I dunno if Stars Hollow is supposed to be closer to Bradley airport than Hartford is or not but either way Lane not leaving until past 8 for a flight at 10 is pretty daring. Doubly so if she's trying to fly out of one of the NYC airports since I don't think Bradley has flights to Korea (though maybe she's getting a connecting flight through Boston or NYC). Random tangent but just the thought of that is giving me anxiety, I'm a "be at the airport 2 hours before the flight" guy.

I always thought (and now upon rewatching for the umpteenth time as well), that this scene doesn't make sense, it's like Lane prepares to take off from her backyard and not an actual airport, timing-wise. :) Especially since it is also an international flight.
