Amazing. You could've given me 5,000 guesses as to the next request you'd get, and I'd have never come up with this wonderfully bonkers, kind of totally amazing flick. Love it!

That was fun! This and the last Buffy episode might not have been the best double feature for my fear of spiders but I managed. I have to think this movie was intentionally comedic. Especially with how goofy and nonchalent Uncle Peter was acting the whole time. I found him very amusing.

Uncle Peter was so nonchalant. His wife died. He was tied to a chair and seduced / almost murdered by his niece. He ate a cat. Nothing phased this guy.

Completely insane, right? For 1967, it had to be an intentional throwback to older horror movies from the early 1950's, except with more sexuality and gore. Just delightful.

Maybe we should all strive to be like Uncle Peter in these trying times. Sure things are bad, but why not smile and eat a nice slice of roasted cat to lift our spirits up.

I'm a huge fan of the weird period of filmmaking from about 1966 to 1975 when no one was sure what the rules were, so sometimes there weren't any rules...and I can tell you that this gem is one of my very favorites of that era.

For sure, it's the end of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and there are so many films that everyone seemed to be looking around and saying "are we really all okay just making this"? Even a big studio film like Chinatown seemed like such an odd risk for the time.

What a fun watch! Your commentary was great - I was laughing all the way through! (Needed that today, so thank you) And yes, this is exactly the kind of thing that should play at a drive-in. I definitely recommend Arsenic and Old Lace when you get a chance. It's goofier than this, but plays on a lot of the old tropes as well.
