What great timing! This is one of my mom's all time favorite movies, it's Mother's Day, and you guys published this just in time for cocktail hour while I have a chicken roasting... So mom and I watched the edit together -- she really enjoyed it & thinks you guys are great. Cheers!

No that is not a weird question about the sheets I ask questions about things in movies all the time. Rock Hudson thought that the gay innuendo hilarious many comedies he did after this had similar gay innuendo jokes that in retrospect are even funnier. The films director Michael Gordon had been blacklisted this was the first film he directed since 1951 and is the maternal grandfather of Joseph Gordon Levitt.

What a throwback! I remember watching this as a kid with my grandparents, and thinking it was just a zany silly comedy. It's interesting because when people say movies weren't so "full of ideology" back then, I think it's just that they were kids and it flew over their heads, because whew! This one definitely goes there. About the slapping, I've seen people be just as shocked watching Carrie (not a spoiler, it's literally in the first scene), or Airplane, and it's another case of "different times". Back then, slapping someone in the face was supposed to snap them out of "hysterics", particularly women. The fact that you were so shocked tells me we've progressed! That scandalized "You can't just slap someone across the face! 😱" made me laugh

I think men hitting women in general is just an absolute hell no moment! Glad that's not how we calm people down anymore.
