I saw one clip from this a while ago and thought it was hilarious, always meant to go back and watch the whole thing and now I have a reminder.

Jeff from this is going to be the new big screen He-Man in the film series they are trying to launch of that universe.

So good. Shiva Baby is a must watch for more Rachel Sennott. And Bodies Bodies Bodies if you want another (horror) comedy.

One of my favorite films of 2023! I stole an Alamo Drafthouse special menu for the film - the front of it is of Rachel Sennot's head! It has lived on the front of my fridge for years 🤣

Love this movie so much! I've watched it so many times now and it still manages to make me laugh out loud. Also I had no idea who Marshawn Lynch is (not American, not familiar with football) so I just assumed he was some random actor until you went on about him and I googled him. He was so good! Would have never guessed acting wasn't his main thing. You should consider watching Shiva Baby at some point too, the other movie Rachell Sennot and director Emma Seligman made together. It's very different from Bottoms, but it is maybe the most anxiety inducing comedy I've ever seen.

I was totally thinking of Booksmart as a great companion movie to this.

Story behind Marshawn Lynch's casting: His sister is a lesbian, and she came out to her family when she was in highschool. Apparently they didnt take it well (including marshawn), and since then, marshawn has tried his hardest to 'right his wrongs'. He thought of her when he accepted this role apparently - they have a good relationship now and he even walked her down the aisle when she recently married her wife!!

Also - Nicholas Galitzine (Jeff) is definitelyyyy an up and coming actor. His other biggest movie is also actually a queer film! His was one of the main characters in Red White and Royal Blue (2023), a cheesy gay romcom detailing the love story between the son of the US president and the 'spare' prince to the british throne. A funny, cheesy film and you can see him play a biitt more of a serious role. Would love to see it in a future poll <33

yes! This is one of my favorite movies, it's so good. It actually holds up well on re-watch because there's always some joke in the background or the subtext that is easily missed. I've been trying to get everyone I know to watch it but no-one irl takes my recommendations lol and now it's no longer available in the UK :(.
