Director Brad Bird is the voice of Edna Mode. The character is modeled after Edith Head legendary costume designer her mannerism and design style and Edna Taylor for her hairstyle.

@Erin, you beat me to this comment. 🥳 The references and homages in this film are numerous.

This is my favorite Pixar movie by far 👍👍

Each member of the family’s superpower reflects their stereotypical archetypal role: the dad is expected to be super strong and bear the family’s burdens, the mom is pulled in a bunch of different directions so has to be flexible, teenagers are defensive and want to hide, kids move a mile a minute and are impossible to keep up with, and babies have unlimited potential. Even if just on your own time, you should definitely watch Adventures with Jack Jack — it was an extra on the DVD and follows Jack Jack’s time with the babysitter — idk if it’s a post-credit scene or something separate on Disney+, but it’s worth a watch The sequel is actually super good, they knocked it out of the park!

This movie is a lot of fun! I hadn’t seen it since I was a kid, and never realized Brad Bird directed this one as well. Heck of a resume there. Joe – Yes - the composer is Michael Giacchino and his work here is fantastic! Jazz orchestra was such a perfect fit. Plus, he basically gave the brass section license to kill – and oh boy, did they ever! Especially high brass. I like to imagine the trumpet players were just giddy when they first saw the score. ‘Surprised the suit fits’ – For the trailer they did an absolutely hilarious bit about that: https://youtu.be/-UaGUdNJdRQ?si=l0uJUO3d3Tm6bgWf&t=44 Super power -- I'm not sure what I'd choose...telekinesis seems handy. Although as a kid I probably would have gone with invisibility because was very, very shy growing up.

Giacchino is one of the best film/tv composers working today, probably tied with Bear McCreary for my favorite. In addition to this and many other Pixar movies, Giacchino also did the score for Lost and the Star Trek reboot movies (which for all their faults had fantastic scores).

I was loud and shy. I compensated for my crippling insecurities by being loud and obnoxious. I'm sure I was delightful.

Youtalkingtome

That's a really great read I didn't consider. Thanks!

It's wonderful, but I am still Team Toy Story all the way!

Jennifer H

I love it so much. I don't know why it wasn't part of the movie.

Clare Manion

Aw 😊 I'm sure you weren't that bad, lol.

I understand the toy story love. This one just hits differently for me. Most people say this is the Best Fantastic Four Movie. As a fan of the Fantastic Four comics, based on the movies we've been given so far, it's hard for me to disagree 🤦‍♂️

Jamie Morgan

I haven't even got to the movie yet, but I just have to say "watch it with the sound off maybe" might be the highest praise I've ever heard anyone give The Lone Ranger 😂

A true love letter to Silver Age comics! And yes, back then and there ... heroes killed bad guys. Like a good James Bond movie, or like how Captain America fought in WW2 and shot people with a gun, these kinds of stories don't shy away from the death and mayhem of the subject matter. In my opinion, I think that makes them better. Raises stakes, presents true danger, but still keeps everything in a sense of adventure (like Indiana Jones). Great reaction guys! :) Glad you watched it.

Part of me wants to watch it as a morbid curiosity, but Disney has completely buried it. :)
