Fantastically fun movie (besides the funeral part). Probably an unpopular opinion but I always wanted Charles to end up with Fiona (Kristin Scott Thomas) instead. Hugh Grant is great at playing roles that are the exact opposite of his real life personality, lol. His performance in Heretic (that you mentioned) is amazing. Also, About A Boy is great too.

Not an unpopular opinion! Fiona FTW! I also love About a Boy (that’s my fave Hugh Grant performance if I’m being honest).

According to Wikipedia the budget of this movie was 4.4 million & grossed 245.7 million in theatres.

(Switched to this one to avoid the synching issues). I saw this movie at 14 when it came out and it pretty much formed my personality for the rest of high school :). To this day I steal Tom’s trick of pounding my drink to get out of an awkward conversation. So many great British actors. Tom (James Fleet) was on The Vicar of Dibley and the actor who plays Bernard was on a cop comedy with Rowan Atkinson called The Thin Blue Line that I used to watch on PBS - both, I think, also Richard Curtis products. Lydia is played by Sophie Thompson, Emma’s sister, who’s in just about everything. The creepy guy from the pub (who yes, I do think is in Braveheart) is also in the 1990s Pride and Prejudice miniseries, as Duckface’s brother in law.
