While You Were Sleeping, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and You’ve Got Mail are my trifecta of perfect romcoms that are actually funny. WYWS is my favorite by a decent margin but I love them all so much. Great writing, endlessly quotable, brilliant casts.

For future reference, Away We Go (2009) is a super cute, if unconventional indie rom com... Though I may be biased - it features my town (I don't think any of it was actually shot here, but still).

pride & prejudice (2005) and sense and sensibility (1995) are 19th century period romances & two of my all time favourite films. For modern rom coms: how to lose a guy in 10 days, Bridget jones’s diary & she’s the man (teen romcom) are all fantastic 💗

Ah, you’ve seen Sleepless in Seattle, so I can say this now without spoiling anything for you: Everything all around was great but that father-son relationship was the best. Perhaps unique. Their ability of the characters to argue heatedly without being mean absolutely showed how much they loved each other throughout it, the father for his son, the son for his father. One could feel their connection the entire time while being totally frustrated with each other and angry. I can’t recall seeing any other film with this wonderful and rare under-spoken dynamic. This is why I find Sleepless in Seattle memorable (while I find You’ve Got Mail forgettable). I so much appreciate your watching this film that I’m not going to recommend anything else right now. Thank you so so much.
